Nice info about the CFE engine. I pretty much like 205nm of torque at 2000-4000rpm. And the turbocharger came from Borg-Warner ! At 1500 rpm, the engine already reach 150nm. This is sufficient enough to move the car in the city and should be low in FC. Looking forward for this new car.

Doesnt matter where the part comes from. For me, the most important thing is the engine performance and reliability.

Reading this articles from Lotus really shows the performance of the car if you can see the graph. The power that came with it is actually higher than a 2.0 NA engine which IMHO is very good.

It also stated that the engine had been vigorously tested in different climate/altitude.

Yerp..i.ve read that the punch CVT cant handle more than 205nm torque. If they use different gearbox, the power might be higher. Cause like you said. It was built within the limit of the gearbox.

But i guess it's better for proton cause now they start to compare with BMW. lol

Higher price than proton of course. You get what you pay for!

Higher perfomance engine = more money

But for this CFE engine i think it's more to the limitation of the gearbox.

At least now people are comparing proton's engine with the like of BMW and audi.

Bro mat, i can only recall spyshot of exora oversea during snow time appearing in PaulTan. Not really sure about the p321a.

If you're using price of proton without tax i bet it will still be cheaper than the imported cars of the similar class and price range. Currently T & H are making a lot of profit from selling underspec car in Malaysia yet a lot of them are still buying. I guess the perception of brand is still high among malaysian consumers.

Hi Bro Mat very nice and informative post from you again.

I've been noticing the same trend lately where there's a lot of negativity if anything that have proton's name on it eventhough proton is now improving in terms of their offering.

It have the reached the level where the makes from Jap is considered as divine and full of technological advancement as people have already make their mind before even looking at the spec sheet. Sigh..

The most obvious is the example you've given about Avanza and what make it more puzzling is i have yet to see the same negativity on other makes even if their cars is low specced.

I think don't book first la. At first, i want to book as well but after that think maybe i shud wait until the car fully launch and can see in showroom only then book cause dun know what we're buying.
