Guess the challenge for Dr. Epple was too big... In any case this is very, very bad timing IMHO, competitors can use this to their advantage if they want to smear Proton.

Challenge, in terms of quality, in Europe? Where? VW Group? Quality is quite ok. Mercedes, BMW, also few worries. The Italians have improved a lot, 10 years ago I would have said... of course, Fiat. Now no more. The French too have improved a lot. I really fail to see any proper challenge in Europe, unless he is going for perfection. So really it sounds like an excuse to me. Hm, I go to the SC if anything is wrong or the car needs to be serviced, so since they are attached to TC, and TC is connected to Renault I guess that helps.

Problem with developing everything themselves is that it is extremely costly and requires great talent. Even those big, experienced manufacturers sometimes prefer to use some other manufacturers engine.
