award-winning series, Mass Effect 3 offers a unique narrative to immerse you in the storyline and characters, quickly and easily preparing you for the beginning, middle, and end of a galactic war for survival.

Single-player

From the first moments of Mass Effect 3 you will build Shepard into the warrior you want to be. Choose your appearance (including male or female) and pick from a variety of specialized combat classes, each with unique and devastating abilities. As you progress in the war against the Reapers, you'll choose which customizable weapons to use, which abilities and powers to upgrade, which armor upgrades to equip, and which characters will join your squad.

The towering, unstoppable engines of destruction known as the Reapers pose the greatest-ever threat to the galaxy – and to your own survival. They bring with them a host of abominations – various races from across the galaxy, perverted into horrific servants of war. And the threat doesn't end there. Also standing in your way is a wide variety of malevolent forces, including the well-equipped pro-human group Cerberus, and the Geth, formidable alien adversaries with their own hidden agenda.

Wage war against the Reapers your way. Command your elite squad to exert full tactical control over battlefield, or charge in guns blazing and devastate the enemy with overwhelming firepower. Use stealth technology and an enhanced sniper rifle to drop opponents before they see you coming. Throw enemies into the air with telekinetic "biotic" abilities and have your squad shred them with their assault rifles. Position turrets and hack opposing tech to turn the entire warzone into hostile ground for your adversaries.

Multi-player

Form an elite strike team with three of your friends, then work together to liberate key conflict zones in an action-packed co-operative multiplayer mode. You'll start as a human combatant, but through a deep progression system you can unlock other powerful races and classes. You will need the other classes' unique play style, powers, and abilities – plus other unlockable rewards such as weapons, armor, health and damage boosters, and upgrade kits – to defeat increasingly deadly waves of opposition. But above all, you will need teamwork to survive.

Resurgence Multiplayer DLC

The Mass Effect 3 Resurgence Pack adds new unlockable content: deadly weapons, new consumables, and powerful characters for each class in multiplayer, including the Asari Justicar, Batarian, Geth, and Krogan Battlemaster.

user posted image

Asari Justicar Adept
Asari are fierce, graceful warriors. They are incredibly powerful natural biotics. The asari excel at hit-and-run tactics that ruthlessly eliminate their opponents from the battlefield.

Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard
Krogan Vanguards are a brutish specimen. These fully mature krogan might be old and slow, but their biotic charge ability makes up for it. Their heavy shields and ability in close makes them a menace on the battlefield.

Geth Infiltrator
Geth Infiltrators converge quickly on a target while remaining undetected. Their unique perception systems give Geth Infiltrators an unsurpassed understanding of the battlefield.

Geth Engineer
Geth Engineers are elite support specialists. Their unique perception systems give Geth Engineers an unsurpassed understanding of the battlefield.

Batarian Soldier & Sentinel
Batarians are large brawlers that use nets and spiked weapons to capture targets… or to bleed them dry on the battlefield. If an opponent gets too close, a Batarian bludgeons them with spiked armor and enforcement gauntlets

Rebellion Multiplayer DLC

The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Reegar Carbine, Krysae Sniper Rifle, Cerberus Harrier) as well as equipment, consumables, and six new characters from species that have lost lives or whole planets to the Reapers: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Ex-Cerberus Phoenix Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues!

NEW CHARACTERS

user posted image

Vorcha Soldier
Thanks to their unique physiology and their Bloodlust ability, the Vorcha are joining the fight and are perfectly suited for the utilitarian soldier kit.

Vorcha Sentinel
The innate aggressiveness found within the Vorcha make them shockingly durable combatants, and when coupled with their Flamer skill, the Vorcha sentinel is a force to be reckoned with.

Male Quarian Engineer
Quarians have spent centuries at perpetual salvage and ship repair; the survival of their species depends on this technical expertise. When bringing the new Arc Grenade to the fray, the Quarians prove their prowess as effective engineers on the battlefield.

Male Quarian Infiltrator

The Male Quarian Infiltrator must actively rely on stealth while in the heat of battle, and when they make use of their Tactical Scan ability, they quickly prove their mettle while continuously dishing out the pain.

Ex-Cerberus Vanguard
When the Illusive Man turned to indoctrination in order to ensure the loyalty of his troops, many Cerberus operatives defected and joined the Alliance in order to stop the Reapers. Now that we’re on the same team, Ex-Cerberus Vanguards (along with their new Lash attack) are quickly proving their worth.

Ex-Cerberus Adept
A result of the Illusive Man's early experiments in enhanced human physiology, Ex-Cerberus subjects are highly skilled combat and biotics specialists. As a result, Ex-Cerberus Adepts can lay waste to the enemy with their Smash and Singularity powers.

NEW MAPS

Firebase Jade - Surrounded by huge waterfalls, Firebase Jade overlooks an ancient reservoir built by the salarians centuries ago. Set up strategic chokepoints inside the base’s main buildings to get the jump on your enemy, and work with your team to meticulously clear each room to achieve victory.

Firebase Goddess - Nestled in the epicenter of a Thessian metropolis, Firebase Goddess is one of the last strongholds of asari resistance against the Reapers. With its circular layout, Firebase Goddess is a tough location to control. This arena combines heavy cover and elevated firing positions, so stay light on your feet.

NEW WEAPONS

user posted image

Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle - These Cerberus-modified Mattock rifles are fully automatic. Cerberus gunsmiths reined in the recoil issues, resulting in a gun that stay on target, but delivers slightly less punch per round than a standard Mattock. As such, the weapon is typically utilized by Cerberus’ elite troopers, who train constantly to make every burst count.

Reegar Carbine Shotgun - This electrical weapon improves upon the arc pistol’s design by generating a sustained current on its target. This weapon is named for the Quarian Reegar family, whose marines have served valiantly against the Geth.

Krysae Sniper Rifle - This Turian antimaterial rifle is modified to kill Reaper enemies. The Krysae’s scope uses a rangefinder that adjusts to keep the target in proper proportion to the shooter, which comes in useful when the sniper is forced into close range. Its specialized ammunition is both armor-piercing and explosive. In a desperate move, the Turians released its specifications over the extranet so that nearly anyone with a fabricator could manufacture this weapon to help the war effort.

New In-Mission Objective

Randomly occurring during waves 3, 6 and 10, this new objective will demand that teams retrieve a high priority package and securely escort it to a designated extraction zone on each map.

New Gear Slot

A new slot will be available on the equipment screen, offering players a persistent gameplay bonus that will not expire after the end of a match. These new items will vary from weapon upgrades to character enhancements and will be available through reinforcement packs.”

finally a new thread for me3 eh. i'm getting the pc version though. i find it more 'complete'.

since i had me1 save game, which events carries directly forward to me2, and then me3.

small sidequests was not carried over when i played me2 on ps3. for example, the conrad verner sidequest. its these little tidbits that make the game.
*
I will get the PC version as well once there is some sales.

*
So you did bought it? I always wonder how much PS+ full game trial contribute to the sales.

I fear the most is phantom and nemesis. they both move too fast and very lethal in close range.
Phantom I can understand, but Nemesis is not really lethal in close range, normally when you get close to the Nemesis, She will always try to run away, not bothering to shoot you until she can find a good spot to hide. She's a sniper

The behavior is the only problem, making it very hard to take a good aim at her(being very small add up as well). So in the end the normal trooper will mow you down while you are busy chasing her tongue.gif

Anyway I'm a level 6 Human Vanguard on PS3 now, level 10 Krogan Soldier and level 9 Human Infiltrator on PC.

Note: I play in Bronze, not sure if their behavior is any different in Silver or Gold

I just went through a round on noveria, at a wave where you need to activate a device near the landing pad, my entire team is in the building, guess what happened? the engineer placed a turret on the staircase exit of the building, and another turret just below the ladder that is near that exit(but behind the opening so we cannot attack those turrets from afar).

Completely block off the route zzzz, my entire team died trying to get through the turrets.

Engineer's incinerate is a risk free way to kill ppl. equally effective as charge+shotgun and much lower risk.

MP trophies got, but you don't need to really do MP to get it. for example, the requirement are like this:

QUOTE
reach level 20 in multiplayer or level 60 in singleplayer

All MP trophies has alternate singleplayer requirements if you really dont want to play MP.

What's the best way to kill Nemesis and Phantom?
Currently I am playing as Soldier, still in Bronze game and it's quite hard to kill them. Can't imagine how tough they are in Silver and Gold game
*
Phantom:

for a Soldier you probably need a teammate with powers to take out her barrier, you job at the early stage is to spam fire her with the assault rifle bullet, once your teammate is able to warp/overload away her barrier, she will try to cloak and run away to recharge her barrier, at this time, keep spamming her with bullet(else she will go completely invisible if not interrupted by bullet), once she find her hiding spot and take cover, switch to your sniper rifle. The Phantom takes cover in a very odd posture that makes her head pop out. Finish her with a headshot. smile.gif

If you are a Krogan Soldier, and she is running towards you, just Krogan Charge her.

Nemesis:

The main problem is she tends to run away when you get close,
When you have her at mid to close quarter, try to get a concussive shot off to stagger her, and take the chance to fire at her. Again, a teammate that can quickly take out her shield helps.

Migrant Fleet refuses Council inspectors

Migrant Fleet refuses Council inspectors

by Diana Allers

CITADEL — Diplomatic relations between the quarians and Citadel Council have chilled after the Migrant Fleet refused to consider visitation by Council weapons inspectors.

The move comes several months after the Migrant Fleet allegedly acquired dual-use ship materials, which could be used to create dreadnought-scale weaponry.

The allegations leveled by unnamed Spectres center around a battle over the Terminus world of Korlus. In a violent dispute, the Migrant Fleet fought Blue Suns mercenaries and when the fighting was done, took its fill of starship parts on or orbiting the planet.

Quarian representatives have so far been unapologetic.

“We have no embassy on the Citadel, and are no longer signatories to the Treaty of Farixen,” Admiral Han’Gerrel vas Neema said. “Our armaments are none of the Council’s business. Further, these worries are unfounded. We have never had, nor do we plan to have, hostile intent to Council species.”

Public reaction in Council space is vehement.

“The Migrant Fleet has always lived on the edge of criminality,” popular blogger Feyro Derlan said. “But adding an axial gun to a liveship that’s who-knows-how-many kilometers long? That’s not a cause for worry, that’s terror worth soiling your pants over.”

Diana Allers is a war correspondent who appears regularly on ANN’s “Battlespace.”

why would anyone with a sound mind want to play ME3 quickly??  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

...or maybe if you want to plat the game the second walkthru you choose action mode?
*
I playthrough ME2 8 times, first 2 times are very quick run throughs because I just want to learn the major stories. Later 6 times I focus on min max up my builds and focus on the action, skipping most of the dialogue except for the ones that I never heard before.

For me action mode makes sense. Then there are players that play ME for the story, and complain that ME2 combat is too hard.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/02/23...ned-considered/

The sense of entitlement that gamers has in this day and age, feels that they are entitled to the "Full" game when only paying the base price, Of course developers are maximizing their profit when making DLCs, but think of how far game has come over the years, with every console generation, cost of making game increased exponentially, but actual hardcore gaming market has not expanded much over the years.

The argument that a Day-1 DLC is important to the story so it should be included in the main game fails to see the nature of selling a product. So do you mean a DLC content should be irrelevant, uninteresting, must not have better content than the main game? Then why put up a product like that? you expect it to sell? So a few months down the road, someone can't write a story for a short mission that totally trumps the story of the main mission? It will be accused as developer intentionally hold back the content to sell more DLCs.

In Software development(or a lot of other projects), there is always a cut off line, I need this game release at March, so after October I will stop accepting new ideas for the game, we need the remaining time to implement our existing ideas and fix bug, so sometime after October someone come with me with a very good idea to improve our game, this idea must be hold down for DLC or a sequel. The goal now is to complete the game on schedule. How do you think Duke Nukem Forever is in development for 15 years?

This also, is the trap some of the games this generation falls into. LA Noire, Final Fantasy VS 13, The Last Guardian, MG Rising, Ghost Recon Future Soldier. some of these games are going with new/rare ideas for gameplay, thus it generally takes longer, experiementing and balancing easily drags the time even longer, sending it into development hell. The cost rises higher and higher for every single time you wasted, and you still have to sell the game($59.99) on the standard price when it eventually came out.

This is not something a good developer will trap themselves with, admit it or not, they do not make games for fun, the make them to make money, some will try to strike a balance by making the game they enjoy making while finding ways to monetize it. But if they do not make money, this developer won't come out with the next game.

So DLCs is the sweet middle ground that they found by selling more content to customers that is willing to pay more, while expanding the market to more casual gamers that just like the basic experience and prefer a lower cost to enjoy it. You do aware that game completion rate for good game is only average at 50%? Means that for every 10 people that buys a game, only 5 people plays it till the end. Be glad that they didn't take that as a hint to cut a game short by 50%.

I mean we never heard someone says "I paid RM15 to watch this movie, so I am entitled to watch the director cut, the HD remaster and the 3D rerelease of the movie, they've deliberately not release it in 3D, because we are obviously capable of that technology over 10 years ago".
