original leaked ending and final choice - same earth sequence but there are several original cutscenes that are edited out from the campaign/story because it does not make sense with the new ending. Related to dark energy a.k.a spiral energy a.k.a gurren laggen.

You will find out the reapers are combating dark energy which will destroy the galaxy. They are not harvesting advanced civilizations to wipe them out, they are "recruiting" them to join them in the fight against dark energy which can destroy stars, as seen in mass effect 2. Which is why in me1, sovereign say that we are your salvation through destruction. Their belief is that only by having more reapers can they combat dark energy more efficiently.

In the final decision you make, same choice but different consequences (No Indoctrination BS)

Command - The reapers respect you. You will lead the reapers on the fight against dark energy. The reapers fall back from Earth and retreat. You will never be seen again (canon ending for mass effect 4 continuation)

Synthesize - You agree with Harbinger. You allow the reapers to harvest/recruit you and everyone advanced in this cycle to become reapers to combat dark energy.

Destroy - You disagree with Harbinger. You destroy the reapers with the catalyst. You will have to find out how to combat dark energy on your own with other advanced races. (also canon ending for mass effect 4 continuation/gurren laggen ending)

I heard due to the developers rushing to finish the new ending, they have no time to write the epilogue. Which probably will come in the next DLC.

they already say that plans are being made for another mass effect game in January/February.
but the next one will not be about commander shepard, its a new main character.

The leaked ending makes a lot more sense. And they should have kept it. Who the f*** leaked the original ending should be shot. I've seen companies change their ending / product simply because some smart aleck decides to leak the product / ending ahead.

Around october/november, somebody leaked the original ending. Bioware is pissed as the ending got major plot twist which they are proud of.
Around December, they start working on the new ending.
However deadline is around January/February for validation and production.
With just one month, you cannot expect them to create a new ending for a trilogy and have time for the epilogue. that's why the no matter what choices you made, its the same ending lol.

Besides, its EA bosses whom decides when its the deadline,  Bioware have to follow it or their team leads get their asses fired.

I agree with you on this. If they catch that guy who leaked the original ending, they should really break every bone in his body and then shoot him.

I don't think that is a forgone conclusion.

They are trying to remedy a situation due to the uproar from fans. Charging for this content will only be counterproductive and undermine any goodwill they are trying to build by agreeing to come up with the content in the first place...

I also hope it will be free. But who knows what EA will do...

More inclined to believe that. They really should have discussed it further. Delay for a month just to get an ending right is far more justifiable than having the controversy flame war thing.

I thought Bioware was already making a "feel good" ending to be released in April as DLC, because some people complained to the US federal government about it.
