An extremely damn fine and sensible read about the ending. Short. Woudln't take 5 minutes of your time and not about theories and such.

While a sensible read, most gamers play games as a form of escapism. If games start emulate real life decision too much, and game companies start producing this shitty endings for rpg, why do i bother playing it in the first place?

Honestly, this will start a trend in other games. Shitty ending scenario.

While I do agree, FF7 started it wayyy back. Not sure if people can accept it for ME3.

But oh well, after I'm done with MP, moving along....

They have until mid-April for any big changes if they plan for any.. including 'Truth' DLC. Any timeline after that, I would consider ME3 to be a failure in my books and i will forgo any future DLC and whatnot.

lol

seriously?

lol

Yup. Think about it, if the game, an rpg to boot, failed in its endings. Why on earth would i ever replay the game, *AGAIN*, if i know whatever different choice this time, wont matter in the end?

And why would i pay more money, for DLC that the ending for a game is less than satisfactory?

Plus, by mid april, there are other games out there.

Diablo 3 releases in May.

Hope in the next DLC Bioware can implement the Happy Ending Pack.

This should include,

a) A banghra dance and song for all characters
b) Scene of dances, with QTEs which begins at Citadel, in the middle its on Mars and ending on Collectors HQ, and they change uniform in the break of the dances and song
c) A scene with Shepard running on the green hills, smiling and heading towards sunset

That would be awesome dear hardcore and menacing not forgetting professional gamers!!!!!11!!!
*
Sheesh. It doesn't even have to be happy ending yo. If you read into the frustation of the massess... the ending could have been

Even with such ending, people woulnd't complain much. At least it was a proper *closure* to the epic of 3 episode series.

Like i said in the previous threads, If return of the jedi ended immediately after Darth Vader threw emperor into the shaft and the movie ended it right there and then, would people be happy?

I prefered they reinstated the original ending and final choice

which is about dark energy instead of lol lol syntechics cannot co-exists with organics.

better gurren laggen ending than current bullshit one.

did you know that the current ending is a rushed ending after the original ending is leaked out during October/November.
*
Lol. Gurren Laggen was pretty much idiotic as well. The character totally went off tangent.

What was the original leaked ending?

Do you guys think that there will be enough content for DLC to be actually made into ME4.
*
Doesn't matter to me. With current ending, I'm not buying any ME4. They can pull the same bullshit ending again.

The leaked ending makes a lot more sense. And they should have kept it. Who the f*** leaked the original ending should be shot. I've seen companies change their ending / product simply because some smart aleck decides to leak the product / ending ahead.

So there are still hope that Bioware might be actually working on some new twist to the ending and to release it as DLC? They are extremely quiet and ambiguous about this. Maybe they are really guarding their plan and not to repeat the leak.
*
The one who leaked needs to get shot.

Check out this fan made alternate ending. I think this is more dramatic and best of all and should be the real ending IMO. tongue.gif

So I guess the happy ending would be like this? laugh.gif

Hell. This ending would have been fine as well. At least you get to see more stuff! Satisfaction that the ending was there... and with this version.

I think the rumour was most likely true. They plan this all along, but need to make a statement due to destructive behaviour of the fans. (asking for refunds, complaint to trade bureau, personal attacks on developer).
*
Yup. More inclined to believe that the patch day on 1st April is spot on.

And, getting feedback from players means that they can tweak a bit more of the ending.

I think there was a case where amazon.com actually refunded a customer. And are they really that suprised about the destructive behaviour? The more famous the game / product, the more destructive when the fans found out they got conned.

I expect they will charge for future DLC. But not the "Extended Ending" DLC.

I don't think they will change much of the ending but to address the issue of the fate of shepard's friends. It's something like a closure that fans seek.  But frankly, I prefer the original ending (before the leak).

Good news actually. Now I will have to play ME2 all over again to get the right choices and import them into ME3.
*
Same here. Thinking about it, if they changed the ending abruptly due to leaked ending, they might not have enough time to cover all the loose ends due to the change.

So the DLC will just cover the loose ends. The ending itself should remain. But the DLC will cover what happened and explain a few things liek wtf and the like that i dont understand unless i subscribe to the indoc theory.

Yup. It's part of the plan all along? I think in the end they responded mainly to address the destructive comments? Like going to federal law.. wtf... US players can do that?

The power of their buyers.. but then again, it's not like piracy is rampant there, so the customers have a lot more power.

Looking at some of the game trailers, I would have to say, Mass Effect 3 official trailer is one of the most cinematic and provoking of the year.

My wife says it looks better than most movie trailer... and she's a non-gamer.

don't get your hope up. All video games adaption sucks until high heaven. Not a single one is good.
their only hope is ask japanese digital production studio to make the movie. Which they for sure won't.
*
Unlikely my hopes are high. So far there's not many, iirc none at all, game to movie adaptation that went good.

Unless they do as tv series, then there's hope.

But unlikely.

There is probably still hope for a good movie, Mass Effect franchise was planned to be suitable for movie adaptation from the start.

There is totally no hope with TV series. Oh the budget......

Unless you mean soap opera featuring an Asari family that can span a thousand years.....
*
Even if tv series, you can keep it confined to the game itself. Think of it as equal to Game of Thrones.

ME1 for season 1.
ME2 season 2.

Although movie hits right at the spot with general audience, I would gather that cutting a 40 hour gameplay into a 3 hour movie will be like watching The Last Airbender which happened to do the same, cutting a season worth of stories into a 2-3 hour movie.

This guy got quad for sharing this info! he got my respect! if this is true and this got spread all over the internet, Bioware will has a lot of questions to answer for. No wonder the ending of this game is so bloody "amazing".
*
That makes even a lot more sense now. It's like a single author who wrote a story that only he understand!

Kudos. Basically, ME3 is f***ed either way.
