Actually japan standard term of a car lifetime is 10 years...
Myvi 1.3 and 1.5 uses timing chain so no changes required. when sound loud from timing chain then they with tighten it my city already clock 200k KM the timing chain still in perfect condition |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Feb 14 2012, 12:16 PM) U mean Timing Belt or Chain expensive?!? Normally the belt is around RM200~300 price range with seal, bearing & pre-tensioner.. The expensive part is the workmanship... But since Myvi 1.3L dont have timing belt, what the fuzz? The most air-con belt & alternator belt, less then RM50 can kau tim for both including workmanship.. |

Myvi engine equipped with self tensioner for their timing chain system...
My kembara dvvt had done 260k km without problem... Take care of your lubrication changing period would help to lengthen its lifespan... This post has been edited by Armoury: Feb 14 2012, 02:44 PM |

i wonder how we going to re-tighten the timing chain..it comes in pre-tension,once remove so need to replace and torque to spec..if weird sound come from ur engine, that will be your sprocket worn out..if in V6 engine, that would be sprocket or lancester balancer..
