I see the majority of you fellas here are taking HP loans of 7 or 9 years.
You should keep it at max of 5 years loan tenure. If you can't, that means you are not able to afford the car. Get a cheaper car.

I think a guarantor is required if the applicant has no credit history, just started working or zero track record or has never been issued a primary credit card before.

I would always take a 7 year HP loan, and then do an early settlement within 4 years. After all there is some rebate in the interest. Not much but still makes some difference.

QUOTE(bogletails @ Mar 5 2023, 11:44 AM) You clearly don't know how hp interest work. In this way you will pay majority of the loan interest within the 4 years and early settlement is not worth it. Car loan is not like house loan using reducing balance method, your total interest to pay is already fixed when you take the loan, and you will pay a lot of the interest portion early in the year. Late stage of the loan only had very little interest and all principal only. Can read more here https://loanstreet.com.my/learning-centre/h...-the-rule-of-78Lets agree to disagree. Each car buyer has different priorities on cash flow. I’m not the type who counts every cent on how much I lose or save on when to do early settlement. I just want a specific car based on my own budget, and would like to get rid of my loan commitments after a certain time. No need for you to educate me of what I do and do not know. To each his own.

QUOTE(carvajal18 @ Aug 19 2023, 10:58 AM) BMW iX1 EV affin 2.27% 7 years BMW 320i affin 2.54% 9 yeaars EV get specials rate, if you are purchasing EV the bank that I recommend will be HL & Affin, Ambank use to offer lowest for EV but not anymore if short term like 2-5 years go for RHB variable rate. Cheers! for the 320i, any idea of the HP rate for 7 years from Affin ?

QUOTE(bokbokchai @ Nov 5 2023, 09:43 PM) hi guys sorry the question might be non-related. Got my new car and signed car loan with ambank. however, personally doesnt own any ambank account and stuff. already been paying installment via M2u to hire purchase account. But i have concerns and wanna see details and leftover balance of the ambank loan account. Is there anyway to do so? since i dont own any ambank SA or CC No choice but to call the HP dept of the loaning bank to enquire current full settlement balance. Also make sure to keep a PDF copy of each payment transmittal in own records. I have the same issue, regular of PBB but HP is with Affin (couldnt change it as they are Auto Bavaria’s panel bank)
