They will now charging 10% for their service charge starting 12th August 2013. Also, shipment cost within Malaysia has been waived but not from USA to MY! Paypal users will not required to pay 1.5% service charge.
From what I see, that 10% charge is used to pay shipment cost and paypal/credit-card costs.
Also, take note that they will now include Malaysia custom tax (up to 20%) to goods as well!
Example Price Estimation
Corsair fan would cost $10 USD (Local is around RM38)
Conversion Cost : USD10 x 3.3 = RM33
Malayia Custom Tax : RM 33 x 20% = RM6.6
Service Charge Cost : RM33 x 10% = RM3
Shipment Cost from USA to MY : RM25
Total Cost : RM 67.60
[attachmentid=3580336] Epic fail for the service charge from Newegg, 10% is a lot even if u buy a cheap SSD at around RM300. This not only make customers disappointed, but also kills their business to MY. |
