QUOTE(evil_kang @ Jul 29 2013, 12:40 PM) You have to pay for the shipping from US to MY. But shipping within Malaysia is free I believe if it's in the Klang Valley. You just have to search Newegg for the items you want, go to the Newegg MY Facebook page and send them the form detailing the product you want. They will mail you a quote including shipping fees and if you agree, just pay to their accounts and they will settle the rest. |

QUOTE(asunakirito @ Aug 13 2013, 09:45 PM) I'm not sure whether that would still apply for Newegg 2013 Black Friday. You have to buy the right stuff in Black Friday sales. Not everything is on sale and not everything is jaw dropping prices. THis graphic card cost $349.99 USD on Black Friday. GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GeForce GTX 670 (original Price is $399.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814125423 That is $50 USD Saving. But this saving is diminished with: $25.75 USD (RM85) shipping from USA to MY $35 USD (RM115.50) for 10% service charge With this 2 alone, it already eats up the savings... This is not included the Malaysia custom tax yet. (Probably min RM20 or might be non-dutiable). From this lowyat posts: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/841985 It says computer parts are non-dutiable, but somehow newegg malaysia staff says there are some that are applied unless that article is outdated. For example I bought a G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB x2 rams during the sale for USD44. Normal price now is USD134. Last year normal price was much higher. This ram from last year until now, nothing can beat the price + delivery I paid for and I think the price I paid can even beat next year normal prices. This year will be the year for HDD and SSD for sure. I won't be surprise to see 128GB SSD for USD40 or 256GB for USD70. For comparison, last year 120GB SSD cheapest was USD70 but very limited. Newer SSD tech + bigger capacity launches will push the smaller SSD to go for clearance. While last year we see 512GB, this year already will have 1GB SSD. So those 128/256 might see some deep sale for clearance sake. Black Friday is NOT for new item launches. Latest GPU, CPU etc will not get a big price cut as these are still popular. But older models which are being cleared off in bulk will be the target. |

QUOTE(asunakirito @ Sep 19 2013, 11:17 PM) New news from newegg facebook. Ehh how do u even calculate 20% more... Newegg Malaysia has recently dropped their currency from RM3.5 to RM3.35 per 1 USD. Previous: 1 USD = RM3.50 (market value : 1 USD = 3.29) Current: 1 USD = RM3.35 (market value : 1 USD = 3.15) 3.35 - 3.15 = 0.20 (20% more , same gap as previous 3.5 - 3.29 = 0.21) The extra 20% surchage in currency use to: 1) cover +10% hidden service charge and/or 2) cover any fluctuation currency within that particular week. So not much improvement on their side yet in currency. The only *improvement* is the promo (which they should implement long before they initially launch in Malaysia) Below is a quote from their facebook page. 0.20 of 3.15 is only 6%. Your calculation is wrong. Without the flat 10% on the total price, Newegg has return to being a cheaper alternative. Example: Current exchange rate of USD/MYR 3.15 Newegg exchange Rate USD/MYR 3.35 If you buy an SSD for USD100, you would pay RM335 for it. Not including postage from US. However, if Newegg followed the 3.15 conversion and still charge the 10% flat service charge. You would be paying 315 +10% = RM346.5 |

QUOTE(sotong168 @ Nov 23 2013, 11:48 AM) No, that free shipping is just within the US. Amazon only ships free globally to India and Singapore if you buy beyond USD125. |

QUOTE(sotong168 @ Nov 23 2013, 01:29 PM) Yeah, at the final check-out, your shipment cost will be added I believe. Small items like RAMs, delivery charges should be about USD15 I think. Bigger items more than 1 lb. (0.45kg) normally they charge by weight or dimension. |

QUOTE(sleyer @ Nov 26 2013, 11:16 AM) In terms of price comparison to MY, yes it is cheap. In terms of historical price of the item in Amazon, yes it is cheap. But in terms of local warranty coverage, depends whether you can live without warranty or not. |
