Even though they had promised 1mbs for wireless connection it is not living up to its expectations. They give hiccup types of connection, example it goes smoothly for like a few seconds n it fails for about 10 sec minimum to 5 minutes and so the process repeats on, It makes downloading almost imposible and guess wat the operator said????

Operator for Jaring Customer server : " erm.... we cant do much to help you, maybe your connection is affected by the weather?"

summary he was trying to say that the "wind" blew away my connection or maybe there's a big huge tree in between my modem n its basestation blocking its ability to upload n download properly..........

Don't get jaring, its a total waste of money and you cant download anything for it keeps on stopping after a few seconds

so are you proposing that we stick with dial up?

It is often that we are not given a choice

*yawn* , I am out of coverage and I'm in luck I guess..I can hit 100Kb/s sometimes..For me its better then streamyx. Its wireless , try relocating your somaport , try to read the guide at www.jaringwbb.cjb.net . The guide really helps , it might fix your problem. I'm happy with this , at least 24/7 internet + static IP + ipv6 !...you can't get that

I think you did not place the soma correctly , I had to buy a 100m cable just for the SOMAPORT , its placed near the window , and i followed and vola , i get signal..if i place near my PC..I will be facing the same problem as yours

Yup try change the location.. Play with it.. Wireless is really a second choice. Only get it if you can't get wired.. I use it before and it better than dial up.. speed (avg) can go up to 60-70 kBps for big2 file..

Now they suck , seriously

I cant even connect to one site , even traceroute to google , goes endless , it just lops to their own network.....and i can traceroute but surfing sites (really slow)..bandtest shows i can get 200-300kbps..but....they said my signal is weak , restart somalah , restart thatlah , dont use router....Sure I know my signal is weak..but I also know that I can download 15-20Kb/s (which is fine with me)

*sigh*

The official JWBB thread is not active already. If I'm not mistaken, most users are currently not satisfied and some even converted to TMNet Streamyx.

I'll be joining the streamyx group soon. heh. was thinking of migrating to flite package but the speed was getting lower and lower.
Tested streamyx last monday, much better in term of speed and can BT some more.
They should have migrate wireless users to wired when requested by the users but customer service told me my area not covered. so..bye JWBB.

and now the connection is becoming from bad to worst...and I can't even take it anymore..I dont mind 100kbps , seriously. But now it takes a long time to even send and get any data. There is now a 5 seconds gap. I hope I would get streamyx soon and then can say goodbye to them

lol....so this is our new official JWBB thread ah ?

If you ask me to comment, I'll say so far so good. The speed is still acceptable for me la. Surfing is quite smooth most of the time and BT is running in the region of 5 - 10 kB/s. For me, that's good enough to resist the force of the dark side. laugh.gif

It's the broadband age~.. It's not the stone age~.. laugh.gif

Soon, more people will join the dark side. Even prasys is considering of changing to Streamyx if his area has ports.

i subscribe since july 10 until now.actually the connection is is weak at this area(infront of pudu plaza,kl)average speed is not more than 100kbps.but no choice since i rent a room here and is not convinence for me to apply a fixed line here.since jaring doesnt need telekom bill then easy for me lo.maybe the good think is i being use for 5 month,i dint face disconnection.and i can get bonuslink card point each time i pay the bill mah.hope they will improve the signal lo or add a new base station at pudu.hehe!!!!!!!!
