QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Feb 15 2012, 10:51 AM)
I beg to differ. He has not been off form. The stats back up this claim as his passing percentages, interceptions, tackles a game all speak for itself. Heck, the fact that Carrick has been our first choice midfielder for 5 years and now going on to the 6th year, speaks for itself. I'll admit that he has had bad patches of form, especially when he's not fit, but that's normal.

Carrick started as a box to box player, playing side by side with Scholes in 06/07. Back then, he was allowed to play forward more often and make more ambitious passes.

By 08/09, he was instructed to play as a dm to shield the back four. This "slump" that most people keep harping on about, is not a slump, but Carrick being asked to be a dm. At this point, his game became all about winning and retaining possession. This is proven by the stats I mentioned above. He isn't allowed to take risks, move forward, make ambitious passes, because that is not his job. We have Rooney and Scholes for that. He is being a team player and it's sad that people don't see this and keep asking him to do what he is instructed by SAF not to do. And people call him shit because of that.

It is only now, with Scholes back side by side with Carrick, that the team have reverted back to the 06/07 formula. All of a sudden, you see people praising Carrick again, as if he started out good, suddenly became shit, and now suddenly became good again. When all the while, he's been that damn good. Nothing has changed. Carrick is still Carrick. The only difference is that he is now being given more freedom to move forward and make passes. Like in 06/07

That's why I say. People need to understand that football isn't all about the flashy stuff. It's as much about the subtle stuff as well. Like tactics, interceptions, etc.
*
Still flashy stuff, ambitious passes play important role. stats isnt all there is to judge also. it doest really tell the whole story

i like carrick coz he is such a team player, dont lose ball and work hard on the pitch. always make room for others to pass him.but he did shown some slump the past 2 season. he can do better as shown first 3 season. glad he hv step up finding back his form this season. But he never was a shit. people who call carrick a shit really dont understand how football being played

i doubt its the new kit. can understand if the design is for away/3rd shirt but as main shirt the design just wrong. its just not man utd style at all. also believe next season away kit should be white ones as this season is blue that gonna be the 3rd shirt for next season

i'd rather have Chicharto upfront with rooney

welbeck for me suits more of being a winger than a striker. he's like nani, minus the selfish part
*
welbeck look better partnering rooney. but i'll guess everyone look better when rooney is around.
for me welbeck still a raw talent that can be mould to be a great striker. he do look having ability of a winger but he might turn out to be someone like RVP. finger cross tongue.gif

chasing game in european away game always hard.. so sad cry.gif

giggs partner jones.. dont agree on this. need someone to hold the ball. carrick or scholes a safer bet.
the line up overall also dont look our best lineup this season..

QUOTE(rbntr @ Mar 15 2012, 09:24 AM)
I think SAF should at least give more opportunities to Berba this season, remember he was the join top scorer for last season and was a key figure on the route for the 19th league title. Welbeck and Chica are still young and will develop into even better players, but Berba brings class no matter which team he plays. Perhaps he was English he might have been praised, not underplayed like this.
*
berba, welbeck and chica all different type of player with own strength but overall at the moment i rate them pretty much at the same level.
berba hv been a while with us and SAF already know what he can offer. chica and welbeck still young so theres room for improvement. who knows how good both can be and for that reason i believe both were choosen ahead of berba.

still it will be sad seeing him leaving.. he sure did bring class and different dimension style of football
