i checked our all remaining PL matches, all Sundays or midweek. no more Saturday.
so, argument playing on Thursday /unfamiliar Europa League schedule are no longer valid because we used to play CL on Tuesday /Wednesday then PL on Saturday /Sunday.
there's no different between Wednesday-Saturday, or Thursday-Sunday.. similar rest days.
duhh im not highlighting just saturdays

...also there is difference.you and i may not know but the team whom actually doing the real playing/travelling knows.with todays advancement in how football is played, matches goes about every single details carries significance.else the gaffer, sports science guys and the fitness coaches wont be highlighting them.if scheduling isnt that important you wont see managers whining up and down the league.
you keep bringing cl, do you know how much planning it goes for those matches??and also why its on a midweek instead of thrusdays/fridays(beside the obvious tv coverage reasons)
here is further proof it does have an effect on how the team goes about in europe:

"I’m going to need to assess our games because we’re maybe finding it difficult to marry the two competitions together, playing Thursdays and Sundays as we do normally with the Champions League," added the manager. "I think we can win the game okay.
22:56 Sir Alex said he needs to assess Chris Smalling's head injury - his stitches from the injury he picked up with England last week came open tonight - before he decides whether or not he rests Rio Ferdinand for the West Brom game ahead of the trip to Spain next Thursday. (GT)
call it excuse or what ever you want but compared to a fan and him the gaffer, i rather believe him since he is the actual one whom sees whats happening, reading the reports on his players then us reading what journo's feed us.
also im not saying thats the sole reason we lost and just to make it
CLEAR im not taking anything away from bilbao's great game.we lost and lots of factor comes in to it and this is one of them.
