After force closing, the camera app should start as per normal.

No idea why it FC in the first place though. Maybe take hanky panky pics it bth fc. ROFL

Jokes aside, test it longer and see if this issue crops up.
If it happens once, you can write it off as software conflict.
But if happens many times, you can slowly find out why it happens by checking out what apps are running when the FC happens.

im an iphone user, so i bought this phone for my GF so i can experiment on both OS. im really trying to learn about this android. for now im a little confused. cause so many have said "cracked" apps will cause instability. meaning to say, its highly not adviseable? this a little dissapointing. the phone is great though...but i have a lot to learn on the android

Are you using SD card?
*
nope. i havent gotten one yet. whats the max size we can use?

is it recommended to root the phone, and save everything on SD?

or is it ok to use the internal memory till its nearly finished, then add an SD?

Those who said that cracked apps caused instability said because they have paid for the apps while others which used pirated apps did not pay for the apps... So they had to side themselves, after all they paid right??

If you read Benny's post on the first page, it states there there are no direct evidence of crashing when installing cracked apps...

And btw the camera crashing is not due to cracked apps, it's a bug in S2 G version...

And I want to say: For the sake of this thread, please don't use PIRATED apps..

hmm i see. its a common issue? my gf aint gonna be too happy with that.

what are the common MUST HAVES in an android? (not apps) more like to do or must do.

crack apps sometimes cause the instability of the apps itself if not the phone.
Thats why FC sometimes happen when use crack apps.
*
thats good to know. at least if thats the case, we can always just remove that app..and things should be back to norm. and i guess if 'rajin' enough to read the comments etc, shouldbe able to know if that app is worth or a good to download

if you are a G user, ROOT + custom ROM is quite crucial. More stability if you are on custom ROM
*
thanks Rattan,

a custom rom will gve more stability, and any other benefit to doing this? or any other pro's and cons?

and thanks soulseeker,

im learning quite a bit in such a short time..thanks to all u guys. y doesnt LYN have a like button for users comments. just a good way to appreciate ppls time n effort to share knowledge and info

No worries buddy. We are here to share and learn. Credits are not important as we all here as a family.
I see more pro's and hardly any cons if you are G user. No reason not to get the custom ROM. Well downside I can foresee is loosing your warranty if you root. However some users has reported that warranty claim was done even while the phone being rooted wink.gif
*
yeah i read in the FAQ, that said many have still claimed for warranty even after being rooted.

alright so a MUST do, is ROOT + custom ROM.

another thing i wanna ask the Android family, so far the only tips i read about the whole virus/malware/spyware etc, is just be careful when downloading apps. and try to check commetns or google the app.

do you guys all have antivirus ? is it common/normal to get infected? my gf will once a while be doing online banking on her mobile, so security is kind of important.

It depends actually, some custom ROM are rock stable than stock ROM.

some custom ROM are not (such as CM9), but  u have may choice of ROM to play with only if u use non G set.

But urs is G set. not many custom ROM to play with.
*
hmmm i see...now im beginning to understand y some ppl prefer the non G model.

so ROM that i should stay away from is CM9.

Bro Soulseeker & Rattan,
Any idea for the G model, whihc ROM might be the most stable?

as long as u dont install cracked apps and only app from trusted developer, anti virus is not needed. but its up to you.

i think for G version is SuperROM. check 1st page for links.
no CM9 for G verison yet AFAIK.
*
will follow bro I900G guide ..thanks bro

so most of u guys don install antivirus, so you dont know for sure u have a virus/malware etc? or it doesnt matter cause you dont do anything important on the phone like internet banking?

thanks snigapoe, i googled what u asked me to do and noticed quite a few people having the same prob as me got it solved by doing this.

Mystombox, noted, will do a test. coz im on H+ its super fast, but when the signal is lost, and goes to 3g, it doesnt load at all and just stops, once changes to H thats when it start loading.

ant,im pretty sure its a network issue, will try out wifi as well. im on singtel(s'pore network)
