Okay, please take me serious here.
Just now, it was the most terrible experience I've ever faced when holding on to the S2.
Here it goes, please bare with me..

Scenario:

I just installed Street Fighter 4 game, and it can play.
So far so good, unfortunately there is a white background, some say to fix it use chainfire and use qualcomm plugins, which I did so..
Still cannot work..

Then after a few hours, I gave up.
Then I decided to uninstall the chainfire pro and then I wanted to reinstall it back, so it says need to reboot.
Which it did.

Suddenly, when it is in the boot logo, my heart skipped a beat.
I felt something was wrong already, as it was on the boot logo for quite some time.
But little do I except that it was far worst than that.

It was not boot loop, but it was just stuck on the S logo for about few minutes.
I felt the back cover was getting hotter and hotter as the time passed.

Something was amiss.
After the wait, it booted up finally..
Phew.

But to my horror, guess what..
The android logo appeared, so I thought all the data was wiped off.
But when I was about to click on the android logo, suddenly error after error of applications appeared and saying that this app force close, crash..
I click force close and another box appeared as though it was like some kind of virus..

I then tried to press the off button.
Cannot..
I get scared.
Without hesitation, I immediately pulled out the back cover, remove battery.

And when I put back the battery, I think no one in this world would expect what would happen next.
Without pressing the on button, the phone just boots by itself.
I was shocked, I thought, its funny I did not on the phone yet.
Well, disbelieved, I took out the battery again.
And now I watched carefully.
True enough, the minute I put the battery back immediately the phone boots up to the boot logo..
Well, that was so awkward.
Its just no way that would happen..

At this time, I told to myself, I am dead, the S2 is dead, the phone is dead, can't be repaired already.
I tried to go into download mode, but no avail.

So I sat there with the boot logo stuck.
And then I don't know what to do but wait, they say time changes things.
But in this case, I doubt.

After 10 minutes, I was about to give up already.
Suddenly it booted up again, and like expected, all the apps keeps on force close.
And to make matters worse, any app I open all force close.
The phone is good as dead.

Since the phone is alive now, I can now safety and quickly switch off the phone, and thank God now can be booted to download mode, quickly i flashed back the official firmware.

Then everything worked, but when it reboot, the same thing happen..
Force close all the apps..

I told to myself that is it,stock firmware still force close.
It's time to say goodbye, all because of one app, that caused the damage.
It's called Chainfire..

Ok guys I report back my problem about phone lag that i stated last week.
My phone has 156 hours uptime now. No lag issue occurred again. The pirated apps are the main reason for my problem. Special thanks to 2 people who helped me. One is singapore, I forgot another one. sad.gif

So, for those idiots who complain about Android super lag, please remove pirated apps first before opening your mouth (kaopeh) or stating the problem at Lowyat forum!
Oh yes, thanks to Uncle Benny too for main post on the first page.
*
Agreed, I did a factory reset and it's super smooth..
Pirated apps caused the phone to be lagging...

Btw, someone said its better to watch full HD on the LCD TV rather than in the puny 4.3 inch screen of the S2.
I forgot who is that, but just now I thought back what he said and now I have to agree with him..
Better watch Full HD on the LCD TV...

Yesterday I bought SGS2 a used i9100G from a person who claims himself a phone trader (mudah.my). He claims a customer sold this phone 3 days only after buying it, selling reason is to buy SGNote. He claimed that the customer didnt provide receipt nor proof of purchase from phone dealer.

He managed to go online & show me the Samsung official web registration, which the serial number is true and original from SME. The web page mentions the phone is registered on 15 Feb 2012 and warranty lasts one year until 14 Feb 2013.

The phone is 3 days old, yet it doesnt look new. The back plastic and side is scratched, looked like its used for months. I'm baffled. Do SME provide exactly 1 year warranty?

I've checked using *#*#4636#*#* to check the usage status, it indicates the applications (Gallery TwLauncher) are used less than 10 times (low usage). Is there anything else I can check to verify that the phone is just 3 days old?

Maybe he hard reset the phone to remove all data?
Have I been conned?   rclxub.gif

If I am not mistake there is a secret code that tells you how long did the phone used the battery, meaning like when I bought my S2, the seller showed me it was brand new by pressing in a code, and it stated 0% usage of battery, meaning the phone had never been switched on before, until when he showed me then the timer had started, I don't think hard reset would change it, it's quite a fail proof way...

oh ya, is there anyway to check the galaxy s2 touch screen response rate? i am experiencing response delays in some games such as fruit ninja, ninja jump and some games that have game pads on screen.
*
Are you using G version??
The only time the Fruit Ninja lags on my S2 is when I play Fruit Ninja THD and only when swiping the new game button it lags, when playing it no lags at all..
Maybe if you are rooted you could try increasing the cpu speed or maybe put to performance instead of on demand, that helped me remove any observable lag on my S2 ..

what is this dts formats?a new game or something?
correct me if im wrong.but wasnt the thd version for tablets?and its more expensive compared to the normal version?any difference?graphics more nicer?cause i just brought the normal version.if the thd version is better then i will get the thd version.or is there a new one like the dts format you mention.

wont increasing your phone to performance mode push your cpu to the limit and its not recommended?sorry im still learning.trying to read from here and on the web to try increase the information.please do tell more.
*
Yes, first of all DTS and AC3 are sound codecs, when playing videos S2 can only support AC3, I tried playing DTS 1080p videos no problem, the only problem is that no sound could be heard as it does not support DTS..
That is why I want to know whether is there any other methods to play DTS formats..

THD are for tablets, namely for those using NVIDIA TEGRA 2 and 3 GPU..
But non tegra phones could use chainfire and act as a bridge to simulate the NVIDIA graphics..
I have been experimenting a few NVIDIA games like the fruit ninja and others and I found out that the tegra version using chainfire, the graphics are much smoother and rounder the edges, you could tell the difference between the jagged edges of the non THD version and the smooth, and I mean really smooth edges of the THD..
With the 16XAA, the edges are perfect...

Yes, putting performance mode will push the limits of the cpu, possibly causing it to crash..
But I've tried using SETCPU, but putting it to max 1200 and min 200 and putting it to performance reduces the lag, and will not crash, of course if you put max 1200 and min 1200 and performance, the phone will heat up so much and possibly crashes after a few minutes..

any idea to root on i9100g without getting triangle thing ah? can guide me step by step quite confuse
*
There are two ways the easy one and the easy one ( after doing many times it becomes easy )..

The first easy way is to buy the jig, plug it in and it will boot into download mode and automatically removes the yellow triangle..

The second way is first to root your phone using ODIN.
First you download the required files, which are
1) ODIN version 1.85.
2) Insecure kernel based on your kernel version.
3) Original kernel base don your kernel version.
4) And the one click root programme.

If you wish please do read the first page, here I just basically summarized what is written there.
First you root your phone, I assume you know how to root, so after flashing the insecure kernel, you will use the one click root programme and click root phone, the phone will reboot, and then the superuser icon will appear.
After that your phone is rooted, but the yellow triangle will appear. So then you just go to download mode again, and flash back the original kernel using ODIN. After that your phone is rooted and without the yellow triangle when booting up.

Hope it helps..

QUOTE(Shizuru @ Feb 20 2012, 09:15 AM)
Don't know about the best video player in the market but mx video player can fast forward a mkv file video.
*
Yes, agreed...

Okay for those of you who want my opinions I am glad to help, but for those who don't want to read my opinions I am glad you did. And don't think I already know the answer and still asking, for those who still have that mentality.
The reason I am replying is because I didn't get a respond, other than shizuru, Thanks Shizuru.

Anyhow, here is my opinion on video players on the market, after doing lots of research.
First of all most video players out there could support a wide range of video formats including mkv and etc.
Most video players too can play them smoothly, ( EXCEPT QQ PLAYER ).
With QQ player I tried playing 1080p videos, but it lags, you would see framerates are not that smooth and jerky.
Other video players played 1080p mkv movies smoothly.
But there is a catch, many would throw tantrums or just delete the application without further experimenting on it.
After many trials and errors I did, I noticed whether its G or non-G, galaxy Note or maybe others ( not sure about S3 ) there exists a threshold limit which is 4Gb. Higher than that, the players would still be able to play them smoothly but you cannot fastforward even one second. If you fastforward, either it crashes or it just goes back to the current time.
But what I found out which amazed me is the QQ player.
Although it lags framerate, but it can fastforward a 4Gb mkv video. One thing though, after fastwording, there will be no sound, and the framerate still lags prominently.

So for me I would personally agree with most that Dice Player is still the best player in the market.
Why? That's because Dice Player not only can play mkv 1080p videos smoothly, but also being able to fastforward a 4Gb and above mkv movie. But here is the catch, you cannot fastforward like to minute 20:00 at one go, the maximum allowable fastforward interval is 60s in the menu. Higher than that it will crash. But its still better than having to wait for one minute than able to fastforward at one minute interval right?

So I hereby state my conclusion:
For people who do not have a 4Gb and above mkv video, I would suggest any player in the market would play it smoothly, even stock player. But if you wanna watch a 4Gb movie and above I would suggest Dice player as it can fastforward a 4Gb movie with a maximum interval of 1 minute.

Hence I would conclude that the best player based on all the specifications would definitely be the
DICE PLAYER..

I hope that for those who said I just lost 10 point of his IQ don't reply, like what people say if you don't like my posts just don't reply, easy as that?
Thanks a million for your attention and concern, and I hope it clears the air for now..
