ytd nite was going for badminton so swapped my umobile simcard into my GalNex. and surprisingly so many times showing me no signal for a few seconds then back to service. i duno whether is my simcard got problem or my device hardware got problem or the baseband have to be changed but it irritates me a lot. while on call it jz drops iteself. and my GalNex accidentally drop to the floor facing down (jz beside the tar road and i nearly heartattack, summore raining at dat time, so chi cham), and take it up, surprisingly after wipe away those muds i din find any scratches on my GalNex

QUOTE(TheLaptopDudeGuy @ Feb 16 2012, 09:40 AM) Lucky you, but gnexus doesnt seem to have gorrila glass its because of my XO skins QUOTE(MYstombox @ Feb 16 2012, 09:41 AM) Maybe it's umobile's problem? i oso wish that its telco's problem but jz turning around KLCC i had lost my signal 3 times. no dropping to 2G but is no network at all, den after few seconds it returned itself. have to flash another modem n try d.If it didn't bother you on another network, maybe its the network operator's fault instead of the phone. Umo is UMTS2100 only, and if no signal it should drop back down to celcom. Never select 2G? btw.... laptopdude r u still on leaked ICS rom? can help me check whether u can initiate wifi direct? thanks |

head to head comparison
(my own 2cents, multiple by 25 then it will be 50cents 1. in terms of comfortable on hand: GalNex>SGSII>GalNote (all naked) 2. in terms of screen attractiveness: GalNote>SGSII>GalNex (if u din go compare the pixel shits, SGSII's screen will give u a fake impression. 3. in terms of camera quality: GalNote>SGSII>GalNex. however zero lag shutters and the modded Camera ICS that can enable silent shutter makes it my favourite, if u get wat i mean 4. in terms of transition animation smoothness: GalNote>SGSII>GalNex. seriously wtf is wrong with GalNex's transition animation? 5. browsing experience: (all using stock browser) GalNote>GalNex>SGSII. well bigger is better, and the reason GalNex is edging over SGSII is because ICS's browser is better than GB's. 6. ergonomy of use: GalNex>SGSII>GalNote. my palm too small 7. gaming: GalNote>SGSII=GalNex. GalNex wins in terms of compatibility, but dun have samsung appstore or games hub make me so sad 8. battery life: this one no need compare. GalNote wins it all. but standby power preserving i can say GalNex is better than SGSII. but when on actual usage i feel that SGSII can last longer compare to GalNex 9. navigation GalNex wins like hell. while using GalNote i need to wait around 10 secs for gps to trace my location, but on GalNex its like almost instant. SGSII? :yaoming's face: 10. storage this one no need compare la, GalNex is not in the same league to play. 11. connectivity GalNote>SGSII>GalNex while NFC is not widely used yet and i'm too lazy to dig out my BH505 from the hell packs of boxes, GalNex's wifi direct pissed me off. the function is there, but cannot initiate nor get connected. i dun noe wat's going on but seems like everyone is having the same issue. btw tried connect my GalNote with MHL+HDMI and play asphalt 6 on my home's toshiba 42", works like charm conclusion: GalNote really stands out. SGSII and GalNex dun have much diff. both have their pros n cons. only when SGSII got the official ICS and GalNex's ICS version is stabled then oni can compare again. but once u tried GalNote on ur hand, u'll nvr head back for smaller screens. feel free to challange my conclusion, afterall usage pattern and preference is different from one to another. |

QUOTE(ellimist @ Feb 16 2012, 10:46 AM) Hmm same feeling in terms of difference, but I don't prefer either screen. Both are ok for me SGSII last time is on andromeda, latest before i sold it.Nice summary dude Wanted to get Note, but so far the units I've played with (stock) aren't as smooth/fast as S2, probably because of the larger screen/higher pixel count? Not sure what your experience is currently though with new firmware etc. The units I've played with are at Samsung Gardens, Pyramid and a friend's unit (not very savvy, so not rooted or updated or whatever I suppose) GalNex is on maguro build updated last week. GalNote is on LA6, latest firmware. and while i'm not sure yet the devices u had tested is running which firmware and izit really got difference, sometimes i will also notice some lag especially while playing HD games. and i jz press the home button and back to the home screen, check the tast manager and din do anything, then back to the game and its smooth d. |

QUOTE(ellimist @ Feb 16 2012, 11:06 AM) Hmm let's say apart from games? Like general navigation and UI wise. Few examples I can think off my head is like to: pinch to zoom: yes on GalNote. no on GalNex. i dun think any of us will use the pinch to zoom function on homescreen though. not practical and in fact no meaning at all to me.1. pinch to zoom on home screen with same widgets loaded on S2/Note 2. General navigation through the apptrays, through the settings menus, etc. While doing it fast. Do you feel a slight sluggishness compared to S2? navigate thru app drawers: GalNote no lag, GalNex got lag. i got 14 pages of apps on my GalNote and only 3 pages on GalNex. and yet GalNex lags. i duno this is the problem of ICS or wat but seriously, F***. |

QUOTE(ellimist @ Feb 16 2012, 12:47 PM) So much for reviews on the revolutionary smoothness of GNex? Seems like our few users here aren't reporting as such o.O milestone 3 is like aosp custom rom. with a freaking ugly pink unicorn boot animation. milestone 3 is a custom rom? QUOTE(ellimist @ Feb 16 2012, 12:53 PM) Ah okay. But doesn't help much in your sluggishness problem compared to stock rom? yup i love this feature very much, but i also miss the call/sms feature in contact list (swipe left=sms, swipe right=call)Hmm should really go play with the nexus a little more and see how it's like. So ICS is not the bomb huh (personally, if you ask me, the main thing I want from ICS, is to be able to swipe away notifications lol) |

QUOTE(Laier @ Feb 17 2012, 05:02 PM) G user, stock ROM,KJ2,not a single problem, except for the proximity sensor always on thing. Also, just learned the other day that Battleheart,a game the shop preinstalled for me,is a paid game, lol. Contemplating on whether I should remove it. The game is so much fun! so we can draw a conclusion that having pirated apps installed on G set will stabilize the system?![]() |
