Seems like only tegra 3 has this extra companion core, not sure whether other quads have this or not

Even most PC software these days don't utilize 2 or more cores... Only when it comes to professional software/games then Dev would spend more time to enchance/compatible with today's evolving hardware. 4 cores do look nice, but doesn't play nice on today's apps...

Companion core helps with idling, like when your phone is in deep sleep state I assume. Which in general your phone doesn't consume much in deep sleep anyways.

When cores are booted up, depends on how often all 4 cores get booted up I guess. vs actual usage.

The only apps that utilise quad are probably minimal tegra 3 optimized games atm laugh.gif

recently, the Android Contacts menu is unable to sync with WhatsApp contacts, even I have force it to sync with whatsapp account many times also the same, this causes me unable to know which friend has whatsapp installed, and end up have to go to whatsapp app to search

how to resolve this ah, it only happens after a recent firmware reinstall..
*
Try clear data for whatsapp and try sync again. Mine no issue after flash checkrom v6

One of old saying is "better have it although not needed rather than don't have it when needed"

Meh sometimes less is moreeeeeeeeee tongue.gif

Got pros and cons la obviously, but I'm not particularly excited about it. Though if Tegra optimized games grow, might be rather attractive

touchpal keyboard are indeed amazing
i actually throw away all those samsung stock, swype keyboard and even those purchase keyboard

with touchpal keyboard i can easily switch between english and chinese input in the keyboard screen itself
but only draw back is that they lack of malay language pack

other than that swipping and text prediction is awesome

Same here. Not so excited as i would rather they focus more on batt life instead of giving it more power that would probably not be fully utilized. But depending on the architecture of the cpu, the cores should be easily controllable with the right kernel.

For me, if I want to Swype = Touchpal Keyboard

If I don't want to Swype = SwiftkeyX keyboard

They are both very good keyboards and what I like most is the word prediction.....
