Hmm., Samsung didn't declared to public saying rooting is legal BUT they sell S2 with unlock bootloader to public and they even sponsored CM7 team with a phone to each of the CM7 member just for modding.

Not speaking on behalf Uncle Benny or fallenangelz but my GNex still on stock roms. No root or custom roms. Pure vanilla ICS 4.0.2 and like i said before it's sluggish and the volume sound an old sick grandma. Too damn slow even with Volume + app installed. Maybe things will improve when receive upcoming updates. Who knows.?
Or maybe root it and put custom kernel/roms will improve this things but as Uncle Benny and fallenangelz said, their phone also quite sluggish. Or is it because all of us had used the blazing fast SGSII before so we find GNex with ICS is a little letdown.

Mine still 4.0.2 and i wont do any rooting or flashing as i want to feel ICS evolution from Google itself. You can ask fallenangelz or Uncle Benny as their GNex rooted and flashed wirh custom roms already.

If your phone rooted then install Voodoo Louder app from market. Together with it the stock Music app is good enough already :-)

I also have PowerAmp Pro but after installed Voodoo Louder, the sound is much cleaner that i didn't need PowerAmpPro anymore :-)

I think you need to do a full wipe before you flash back GB base roms. I might be wrong though :-)

It sluggish in term of speed, not smoothness. GNex is smooth alright. On that Google earn their credit. But with same 1.2Ghz dual cores (though different processor) GNex should be as snappish as SGSII :-(

What do I feel about my stock GNex.??
Quite disappointed actually. Maybe it because of my high expectation on a fast, powerful and awesome latest Google phone. Still, I had no regret buying this phone as I believe it will matured in coming times. But until that times come, it will be sitting inside the box as i prefer using SGSII for daily usage while GNote as a secondary phone when i have some leisure times. :-)

But it has awesome screen..!! Beat SGSII hand down in screen category ~~LOL~~

What talk you..!!?? I thought all this while you're using white AP non-G set (bought from bebeq) same like me.?

You can close app in GNex by swipe it away but in SGSII on GB, it's much easier by using Task Manager.
One touch can close all active apps :-P

Flash back full stock firmware by using Odin will unroot your phone and bring it back to standard stock firmware.

- download appbrain app from market.
- fake US telco using market enabler
- open appbrain and sync your apps
- now you should get an update notification for Google Maps in appbrain.
- update your Google Maps

Use Mobile Odin Pro is much easier. No worry about what to put where. Just enable everroot and you get auto root, SU and CWM without losing root.

Did you setting your Juice Defender properly.? Otherwise JD will cut you data network once your screen off. I never use JD though.... :-)

Try scan your sdcard for any corrupt files. Sometimes corrupt files can slowdown your phone.
