Hey guys, can retail Dead Space 2 be activated on steam ?
*
Nope, not Steamworks. Only Origin. You need to contact EA cust support for the first Dead Space since it's a 2008 title.

Only games released 2009 or later can be activated directly on Origin. Mass Effect 1 is not one of them. However you can still get EA customer support to "add it" to you Origin library if you insist.

Any games purchased in Origin are already Origin bound to your account.

question,
i saw a sale for DOW 2 on GG and i know its an RTS but what to expect?same gameplay  like red alert and starcraft?
*
Plays a lot like Companies of Heroes minus the base building. The best way to describe it is a close combination of RPG+RTS where your units level up and gain new weapons/items. If you want massive armies you better sticking with DOW1 or other titles.

thanks for the response,so its more a squad based rts is it?no building, where do you get reinforcement?
*
Its purely a small and tight individual/squad based. There are building and reinforcements but they act more like "support powerup" like using your Call Dropship ability to reinforce or damage the targeted area. Most of the campaign plays like capture the flag in RTS form with a bit of tower defense thrown into it.

DOWII Vanilla campaign is brutally tedious, if you lack the patient for the lack of missions variety I would suggest you to just skip it. My favorite campaign so far is still Chaos Rising followed by Retribution, the only downside is that the campaign is just too short for its own good.

Another thing to add is that DOWII and Chaos Rising uses GFWL, Chaos Rising uses both Steam and GFWL hybrid DRM while Retribution is purely Steamworks.

The promo has since ended last week. Limited to 5k customers, almost the whole Origin store received 50% off storewide.

Havent try Darkness series, is it good?

Its a quite good, great action, great dialog and artwork.

Biggest downside like mentioned by most is too short and the action executions can get repetitive, very repetitive. And pretty much nonexistent MP.
