As topic, is centre cone a must once rims are changed? price is around 80-90.

or only needed when driving at high speed, car shakes... rclxub.gif

will there be any damage if didnt install centre cone, and seldom drive at high speed? <120km/h

center cone's size varies from different manufacturer of the rims, u'll just have to consult the tyre shop and I'd say it's necessary to install it as it acts as a retrofit accessories to close the gap for your after market rims.....it's not that expensive anyway....why hesitate to install?

TS,
Basically d cap is more on looks other than consealing/'protecting' ur wheel hub's lock pin n nut.

If ur really on a budget, some shops allow u to go tru their 'junk' for centre cones tat hv been changed by previous customers wit a much cheaper price.

i'm not those that drive >120km/h..
plus don't feel any vibration..still the same as stock rims..
Guess its just an accessory (optional).

Yes, i'm talking bout the ring inside (not visible), not the wheel cap..

Oops, me bad.

Nope, I doubt most ppl even install this especially after all's fine after just proper balancing. Its just an optional accessory.

I am one of those non-believers. Trust me or not the design of your rim nutholes(dont know what you call em) and the design of your nuts(lol, aka lugnuts) are all conical. A good mechanic will tighten them in a criss cross sequence, only to hand-tight all four together, and tightening it real hard once the former step is done. This way, the cone shape of the rim-nut-hole and lugnuts are all centralised. If a dumb mech just whacks the nuts on tightening one hard and then slowly tightening the other three without any sequence, the rim is not gonna be centered for sure.

Sorry I dont know how to put it in words, mind still asleep

Friend added that rings long after changing rims n his car steering vibrates less at 140 n above....wonder why d tyre shop didn't tell him to fix it when he was changing rims at first....so it works but do u need it? Heck it's cheap tho n it's ur discretion

Aftermarket rim cant fit 100%, so must add center cone to fit the extra gap.
*On & Off wheel balancing is a must too if u change new rim =) hehe

Yup..that's what they said last time when I changed my stock steel rim to taiwan rim
and they also add if use ori japan rim, no need to use the centre cone
