i think it's too obvious a flash was used. the light doesnt look natural

n somehow the background doesnt interest me especially #3 the orange stuff is too distracting

no. go read up what rear sync flash do.
and do you want us to discuss about the photos, or your question?

if you're talking about rear curtain flash, then no. that's mostly for night photography

if u mean the flash should be directed to the model from her back, then yes. to highlight the hair. then just use a reflector in front of the model to bounce some light back to her front. looks more natural. obviously u'll need to bring another person to help u out with this hehe

for ur next photoshoot i want to suggest somewhere with a plain background, like a forest or somewhere

Mang, this kind of question only newbies will ask ler. Go read this link (little bit outdated) http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/ search for second curtain sync and then figure out yourself whether it will make a difference.

In fact, I would suggest you to do some research on how light behaves and get to know a few kinds of lights (soft light, hard light, source of light, etc). The types of lights are just like the media you used to paint. If you used the wrong tool, then the result definitely doesn't work the way you want it to be.

The forumers here mentioned that the outcome is too obvious is the flash is used, and this happens probably due to the flash doesn't jive with the ambient (surrounding light) making the photo look like there are 2 kinds of light and uneasy to the viewer.

The major problem now is not only the light...

nothing wrong for usage of flash i think... u may work more on compo... background... try to find the best angle for each talent... just my 2cents...

but seriously, TS, what difference would it make by shooting with the built-in flash as compared to your complicated setup?

Well..the thrashing has gone overboard IMO..critics on the photos are fine (that's what such thread is about) but don't bring up things that are more to cause shame and contempt..that made u look stupid..
