Hi all, I am looking for a software which can protect content of my usb drive from being copy out. but can read.

For eg. i have a mp3 or word file, another person can open the file or play the song directly from my usb drive but when attempt to copy, it will shows access denied.

I might be wrong, but I don't think it is possible. When you allow people to open the file in the USB drive, you are essentially granting them Read access. Copying is a Read operation.

Therefore the only way to prevent copying, is also to prevent reading. That can easily be achieved with full disk encryption applications.

there are so many full disc encryption software can do that.. but u must pay for that.. really pricey.. not worth.. just the big company use it

i thinks it was possible..my "ministation 3.0" which is an external hardisk from Buffalo have that kind of encryption..you could just access n open the file, while dont allow them to copy paste the file unto the OTHER computer..

~this may only applied to the file the which is backup through the software included.

may i now what software is it?
