Hi guys, I just recently bought a lcd screen replacement from Ebay with USPS priority mail which cost me $14.99. Based on USPS site, the tracking code number for priority mail starts with CP



But the seller on ebay gave me tracking code which starts with LNxxxxxxxxxUS. Is this another code for priority mail? I've tried to google search and I can't find much information about it, actually nothing! I saw an ebay thread on ebay malaysia forum and sadly there was no reply there.

Anyway I have another question, I questioned my seller whether that is my tracking number, his reply was simple saying that shipping status will not be available on USPS site as it is an international shipping. Its kind of suck to know that you can't track your item. I'm kind of skeptical about this though and I just want to know is it true on what he said that I will not be able to track my item?

Few answer I found.

A: If your tracking number is similar to this "LJXXXXXXXXXUS" OR "LNXXXXXXXXXUS" then your item shipped via First Class Mail International. First Class Mail international will only track while it is in the USA. Once your item leaves the USA tracking will not update further until it is delivered to you.


INTERNATIONAL TRACKING NOT AVAILABLE
Tracking information is not available for USPS First Class International or USPS Priority Mail International. Shipping label number can be provided as proof of shipping. When you check a Shipping Label number (LNXXXXXXXXXUS) at USPS.com, you'll always see the same message because tracking does not apply for international packages. Therefore USPS will not update the status even if you already received the package).


How do I track my shipment?

USPS customs label numbers are usually 13 digits long (LNXXXXXXXXXUS). In most cases these label numbers are not tracking numbers. They will, however, note when your order was "accepted" and picked up from where and what location. Go to http://www.usps.com/welcome.htm and enter the customs label number in one of the fields provided then click on "Track and Confirm." The customs label number will be displayed. If you need detailed information, click on "Details."

Since I am not able to track my item, how do I know whether my item has arrived? The seller said it will be arrived between 2 to 3 weeks, so I can only wait? Can I call pos malaysia and check with them? If so, what reference number should I give them?

I can't answer that, never had any experience.

Get the seller to confirm the tracking number, and if it's still for 1st class, open paypal dispute since you paid for priority but got the cheaper 1st class.

Do confirm with the seller first though, coz as far as I know $14.99 for priority is damn cheap. I just bought a small/non-bulky item from US as well, and while 1st class cost me about $12, upgrading to priority would be an additional $20

As you can see, it is $14.99 for priority. This is my first time though so I really don't know about the shipping price. What I know is that priority is safer than free one.

Well I have already messaged the seller regarding this issue and have not received any reply yet. Anyway, I am just wondering what are the differences between first class and priority mail? Is first class mail the standard international shipping, $0.99?

Compared to yours, i did not receive any result when I try to track.

Wait for the seller's explanation I guess, and remember to let him know you know that the tracking number is for 1st class only, and not priority. Definitely either get a refund for excess paid + seller's guarantee for a replacement against damage/loss or open a dispute over in Paypal if seller refuses. It's possible that the seller made a mistake when posting.

Only the seller will know what the standard international shipping will be, but usually it's first class international la.

First class: Like our regular Registered Post. Tracking is until the parcel leaves the originating country only, sometimes also when parcel has been successfully delivered.
Priority: (I'm not 100% sure about this one ya) Like Registered Post for International Mail, so trackable all the way, but takes the same amount of time as First Class.

Thanks for the clarification. I have not received any reply from the seller though, so sent him another message that issue so can get some explanation as don't want to jump to any conclusion. Until now, I'm not able to get any information from the tracking number. Just got the same old message. Hope I'm not being cheated..

Probably not a con case la, as you paid through Paypal plus the seller has a pretty good ebay rating.

Ya, seller has good rating there, but have a little bad rating as well. You know, I am newbie.. A little paranoid! The seller replied and claimed it is priority mail and they are aware of the fact that I paid for priority. Well, I will just wait for the item then. Claimed that the delivery will be around 14-20th February. ETA 2-3 weeks. So yea!

Well they were having sale when I bought the screen. It was 99.90 dollar and I can't get any replacement here in Malaysia. I don't know why the seller increased up to $205 though.


Anyway guys, I'm wondering can I use the same tracking number as a reference if I call in to Pos Malaysia? Just in case if I have been waiting more than I suppose to.

Email USPS to confirm. I highly doubt the tracking number is for Priority.

No, won't be the same number when it reaches Malaysia. Agak2 when the parcel should reach Malaysia d email Pos Malaysia at csc@pos.com.my and ask them which number is assigned to your tracking number, and if not assigned yet ask them to email you when they do.

Ya, just done that, it will take them 2 - 3 business days to reply. And I guess they don't have international support as I have to put America address and I can't skip that part. Na, if it is $205, I would go to other sellers as there are few of them that are selling around $105~$120.

USPS tracking is slow...not sure about yours but mine roughly updated on 3/4th day.....

but make sure yours start with CJXX XXXX XXXU S means u can track in USA and in Malaysia when it reach our soil....means thru www.pos.com.my

item worth USD 250 and my shipper tag as gift but i think i might end up getting 10% tax coz shipper put real value as this parcel is insured. Anyway, like i always do, if its tax then i go direct to KLIA POS to nego hehe..if lucky dont have to pay at all.

also normally if i still didnt get it on the 3/3 i can open dispute and get full refund....

No, I have not received mine though they said delivery would be between 14 - 21 February, but there is changes on the tracking though.

About the email from USPS, that's odd as my parcel could be tracked to an extent. The last time I checked I got results like what I've posted above, plus a few more updates.a
