I am on maxis, I get ~7mbps.

Don't make me jelly, my digi only get 1mbps

My sgs2 is always hooked onto 3G when ever I am in maxis 3G range (~99% of the time).

No problem handing over to H+ and down to 3G mode when no data is used.

Usually I just use e as I only whatsapp and I usually have wifi around me. Does 3G suck up alot of battery in standby?

if comparison sure 3g use more juice than e
if not for surfing e is more than enough

No issues for me actually, I don't game and my brightness is very low.

Battery life isn't that much a concern for me as I usually just keep my phone plugged in at the office. At home even if I have wifi I usually just leave it on data.
~2h of constant browsing will drop battery by about 20% for me.

Be carefull what u say or do against S2 will backfire on u. Dude this is S2 thread. Everyone here love this device.

Can't argue with that. maxis does have the fastest speed. but for me its d most expensive la. celcom got slower speed but affordable la. speed didn't concern that much. all network coverage is bad in my house. so i learn to live with it.

Now all mobile comm company is considering the Long Term Evolution or LTE type of connection in malaysia. but the sad thing is, all of them might need to share the access with each other. hope that the charge will be pretty much the same as now or cheaper.

I don't think LTE is mature enough yet, LTE drains battery like crazy.

LTE=Long Term Energy crisis?? LOL. Anyway, if i can get coverage for HSDPA most of the time, i am happy already. No need super fast line for a phone...just light surfing, apps download, social updates. Using DIGI on S2, very good already.

Btw, to the ifag. 3G sucks....slow like turtle. HSDPA is 3.5G in case your brain hasn't been updated yet. Just FYI.

So comm should consider cdma for data conn first before jump to LTE. but they planned to try LTE in mid 2013.
