Well we didn't have problem with rust but we did have problem with the interior panel falling off, actually it's the interior door handle frame thing and the right signal indicator on the exterior that gotten loose out of the car body (dangling wire held the lamp). Fortunately, Honda SC fixed all those issues for us FOC but still, it's annoying to even have to deal with it in the first place.

Now the latest issue is with the engine vibrating when I press the accelerator hard from start stop traffic. It vibrates the entire dashboard and steering for about a second or so then disappears. Oh well, 5 years already that car.... guess I can't really complain much. Maybe it's time to sell that off for something else.

try checking the condition of the engine mountings

This civic suppose to be cost down version for honda. But here the price is even up higher. Even the engine don't look good compare FD2. Does the price justify.

Another is, local honda assembly intend to use 60% local content. That should reduce the price and not getting higher. Our local parts more expensive? Is it worth to buy?

local content doesn't mean cheaper parts
typically locally assembled cars has a lower price due to tax differences
but to say that local content means cheaper parts, hence lower car price is not always accurate
you need to look at the volume and economy of scale for the local made parts
which would you think make the cheaper part?
- a factory in japan producing a part at a volume of 100,000 a year
- a local factory making 10,000 of the same part a year

excise duties needs to be paid
and they usually say kastam duties
there's a link between the factory and the government and payment will be done before the car leaves the factory
