have to agree with starship's comments. I've test drove the new civic, and vtec still sounds as good as ever. don't think the exterior is as bad as publicized - you just have to see it in metal. interior is not the greatest, but I can live w tht. Will be booking one soon + adding the modulo kit smile.gif

i do agree tht the driving exp is not as "spirited" as compared to a vw, but for 130K - is there a better option out there? besides, i've browsed through vw forum and there are just too many common issues on failed mechatronics, dsg gb, etc. althought it's covered by warranty, leaving ur car in the workshop for a few weeks is not cool

i think civic is one of the best option out there given the price range. i've also looked at other models, but most of it are nearing the end of its lifecycle. my plan is to get the new mazda 6 w its new takeri concept in the next 2-3 yrs smile.gif so getting a car now w good resale value is an important factor for me personally

Thumbs Up bro. I actually cancelled my 1.8 Elantra due to a heartache n really bad experience with the SC and HQ. Now I feel like it's a blessing in disguise esp after test drive the new Civic 2.0S. ETA < 1 mth smile.gif

bro, i don't think i have ever seen a new model launched which is priced cheaper than its previous version. the price increase for 2.0 is about 2K. if you averaged out 2K over ~5 years, and factor in the inflation, and some of the features given and also the new 5 years warranty - i dont think the buyers are any worse off. i think the debate between SOHC vs. DOHC will be never ending, but to the normal users - i dont think the difference will be obvious.

btw, i dont understand when ppl debate over if a car is value for money. i always see a car as a lifestyle, and a choice. i've already accepted the fact tht owning a car in malaysia will never be cheap. so the question should always be - how much you are willing to spend? not which offers the best value.. cars that are so called value for money usually have an underlying reason why they are priced lower.. right? haha

Thanks OperaGhost.

Actually the Econ mode will just show you guide to drive at economical speed? Or internally, it will automatically handle the "pick up rate" or "gear change" from time to time (depending on your driving style) to optimal level to save petrol?
*
Nup.... not like that... when the eco mode is on you will feel the car pick up and exhilaration wont be as strong. Thus it will save fuel. According to SA its about 10-15%... not sure if it's true.... so im doing a comparison nw to confirm.

New here.

Just booked a civic hybrid. The SA showed me the new navi package at RM4k. Papago, 7.5 in display, reverse camara, BT, etc. Made in Taiwan. Look kind of cool.

Better deal than the Navi in 2.0 Navi. The new navi only available in around mid Sept.

Any pics of the navi n specs ?

have you guys tried locking the car using the remote with the engine on then walk away?

Nup.... Bt I tried lock when engine off with key still inside the car. It wont work. Same as u can't close the trunk if the key is inside.
