Using a Mobile Device as a Desktop Computer. great video !! suggest to pin this in 1st page  thumbup.gif

Yeah did this before with my razr because the razr have a built in hdmi out with webtop ui. Really cool actually.

Currently im using apex rom with apex v5 kernel, quite satisfy with the battery life, using on demand governor as i think the interactive governor sometimes make it lag to sudden respond.

what type of task manager do you all use?
*
It is not recommended to use task manager on android, furthermore with ics. U can just close the open app by click multitask menu at the navi bar then swipe the open app snapshot to close it.

Lol u guys still using default protector? Better use cheap clear sp than the default, even thou the cheap clear sp can attract oil and dust, at least u can see ur screen clearly and enjoy ur phone compare to default sp where u always see the nexus logo on top of the screen and distract u from enjoying ur phone

The screen issue is normal for all amoled screen.

Other issue is also normal for gnex, just flash custom rom/kernel see which give u better battery life and also install volume+ to increase the volume.

if the next Nexus will born from moto factory, that would be great. i like moto built quality compare to sammy, my previously own razr was made from alumiunium, stainless steel frame inside and real carbon kevlar at the back, can feel the solidness when grabbing it, but of coz google must keep on using the trademark design of Nexus with vanilla pure android OS.

hi, im new to this forum and am keen on buying a nexus. this will be my first android phone. before this i was using an iphone4.  Im planning to get it from vodafone australia. Anyone knows if vodafone installed any bloatwares or if they have their own vodafone splash screen on it? also, it is fully unlock if i buy it from them right?
*
maybe someone here can help.

i think eventhou there are bloatwares install and voda splash screen, you can just flash the stock ics rom into the gnex. just my 2cents, maybe someone can clarify.

Portable hotspot.

Wifi direct is use to connect directly to the client device such as printer, digital frame etc... it work just like bluetooth file transfer but at faster rate.

What's the differences between AP and SME other than the warranty(duration and the company)?
*
SME set is from Samsung Malaysia which is the authorized distributor for samsung handphone, so if your phone need to send for warranty claim/repair within warranty period, you can send to any samsung service centre around malaysia. Heard that samsung service provides the best services.

while AP set is still an original phone but the phone was imported into Malaysia not by authorized distributor channel but by an AP company. So warranty claim you have to send to this company only or from the shop that you've bought the phone only. you still can send to samsung Malaysia for repair but you have to pay the charges.

So, get AP is better than SME?
*
for me, if you have the budget, just go for SME, easy to claim warranty latter if anything happen. if you are on tight budget, get AP is good also, you can spend the extra cash rm200+- on good case and sp. But make sure the AP company is reputable, and the store that you want to buy is good on handling customer service, else if anything happen, sometimes they said the warranty is not covered.

I saw a user here want to claim warranty for his AP set, when the shop knows the phone is rooted, then he cannot claim for warranty. while for SME, i've heard that samsung service centre still repair phone which is under warranty for free eventhou it is already rooted.

so both have pro and cons

i think it depends on area, coz usually my place get less than full bar, after flash this i can get full bar easily.

maybe ur place already have strong coverage, so no need to flash to mkkd, just use the xxkk6 already good for u. smile.gif

that is why some ppl in the xda didnt get any improvement from the baseband because it still depends on ur coverage area.
