is anyone using Gnex+Umobile? Sometimes I have to select Umobile manually because the signal bar shows 'R',which I guess means roaming,i.e. not taking up umobile. Is it issue of umobile or gnex..

QUOTE(acaptake @ Feb 15 2012, 08:14 PM) Same case. When I use 2G (with checked roaming option of course), GNex shows 'R'. All the time, wherever I go. That wont happen with 3G/H. But even with the R sign, internet will be there; if the area has good reception. Usually in the open or high level building. I'm forced to use 3G most of the time. Weird.. So whats the solution .. If I tick roaming+data wont it charge extra? because u never know it might take other operators signal and charge us for data..what say? Added on February 16, 2012, 12:55 amQUOTE(calmshot @ Feb 15 2012, 11:25 PM) [attachmentid=2686937] It is confirmed that mkkd is better for my area with digi. I tried flashed back to xxkk6 and run speedtest, got around 400-500 only, then flashed to mkkd, managed to get 900-1000. So it is totally depends on ur coverage area bro pls share the link for mkkd.. google not helping or may be I didnt put right keyword. QUOTE(cougar richard @ Feb 16 2012, 07:44 AM) if it shows UMobile2g and with a r, then it means u roam with celcom. It won't charge us extra other than normal rate as UMobile is partnering with celcom. if it shows other operators then u will hv extra charge. try check at UMobile website It only shows 'R' and when I manually select the mobile networks then I can see UMOBILE too. I have to manually change it to Umobile and then I can use data because I have not set data on roaming. Now I m confused whether it is Umobile problem or some issue with handset. I have taken a specific plan for data. So if it is Umobile2g then also no charges?

QUOTE(aliqueamyrei @ Feb 16 2012, 10:14 AM) Sorry am noob Titanium Backup will save the backup in SD right? So if I flash stock rom which will wipe everything including things in SD, how to restore the backup? Always backup the backup from TB on your PC. Or better buy the paid version of Tb and its media sync application. It will auto backup the stuff on dropbox etc places. So you never have to worry. QUOTE(phantomash @ Feb 16 2012, 10:21 AM) move the files to PC, then move it back to the phone Some users can not see the files inside the folder. So just use Gnex toolkit and pull the files from the phone. Also can create .zip to flash directly after custom rom. I have planned to create systemapps.zip and userapps.zip. I m not sure can do, but it would be great as some users have advised not to restore system apps as it can mess up custom rom.

QUOTE(cougar richard @ Feb 16 2012, 11:08 AM) where is ur area? not all area get 3g all the time. If it shows R and is under UMobile2g then it is fine should be no extra charges on top of what you subscribed. I noticed it on area in which I had 3g too. So when I do manual select I m able to see. Eg Masjid Jamek LRT, PWTC

QUOTE(Fallenangelz @ Feb 16 2012, 01:12 PM) system data is useful only if u r restoring on same device, same/similiar rom. if u change from one custom rom to another, restoring system apps might give u a lot of fcs. I guess then we have to create different backup folders in the system for different roms. Does the change of kernel can impact too? or only change of ROm matters ?
