that's right, don't trust the rumor. nobody will able to see SIII in this and next quarters. GNex speaker is really below standard, dunno why. but I just use mostly earphone, I can used to it. HD video playback very smooth, no issue. @DarkSilver, go ahead get your unit anytime. for me, I won't regret. the top most important reason to get GNex is ICS and enjoy next upgrade too. Android 5.0 on the way, Google will speed up the development.

I guess maybe the comment is only from downstream vendor, but not applied from end user. as we're bought nexus which is direct from Google, we should outside from downstream vendor's concerns. maybe there is reason behind that causing other vendor in difficulty on upgrading to ICS as soon as possible but need more development time & cost? or specially applied for tablet PCs only? no idea... tired on waiting from any brand/vendor commit timelines on free upgrade, waiting is pain & Nexus is most simple solution. patiently waiting for google said, google branded tablet for next on this year.

I am guessing they are judging it based on GNex's sales, which is inaccurate, because there are so many other phones that the general consumers would rather get instead.

If they are basing it on reviews, I don't think you can say that ICS is a fail, because every single review has been praising ICS as the best Android update yet.

I don't think ICS is over hyped either, the hype is mainly coming only from tech blog reviews, no one else knows what ICS is, and what it does. I would go as far as saying that its not even hyped based on people around me. My point is, the hype does not go outside of the tech community, which is the minority.

Besides, if you compare this to the STOCK Gingerbread like the reviews did, can you honestly say that it is not a huge step up?

phew... finally, i can rest assured my screen dont have dead/stuck pixels anymore...
thanks to the shop i got it from (directd subang), they simply swap the faulty one i got last nite with a diff clean set...
so far, this is the best shop that deals with AP set i ever dealt with.. before this, once I walk out from the shop, watever happens, they wont even consider swapping.. straightway, masuk repair centre..

hopefully, my new gnex stays clean from dead pixels as long as possible...

you must be lucky, because my friend had the exact opposite experience of yours when dealing with directD.

by the way, did u notice minor screen leaking around the screen frame while doing dead pixel test using apps?
mine got, but only when test with certain color..

yesterday is the day that i finally started to use it like normal phone instead of spare phone. and i find it lacks a lot of user-friendly features. or mayb u can say i have to adapt my user pattern in order to fit into ICS. for example in GalNote/ SGSII i can easily swipe at a contact to left for messaging or to right for calling. on GalNex? swipe will bring u to another tab. wifi direct is another thing without answer. no doubt the UI received facelift, and there's some positives in it. but in the end, it caused much more dissatisfaction to me instead of surprises. might because of the high expectations i put on it. but this is google flagship. shudnt be so depressing right? just my opinion. dont get influenced by my judgment though.

im using franco kernel right now together with aokp... tried android hd revolution b4... felt that one is better for me..

reason is, you are comparing ICS to TW GB, not the stock GB.

those functions you mentioned are the ones added in by Samsung. Which is good if you like it.

But if you're comparing it this way, its like how iPhone users are saying how he can do everything on iOS more intuitive than using Android in general, because you as a user have accustomed to how the UI is.

finally my gnex is ready for collection.. hopefully the nfc issue has been fixed..... will go collect by tomorrow...

seriously? the guy i dealt with kinda cool.. his name was Soon..
when i return the set to him just now, it still has the original NEXUS screen protector attached.. i guess thats why...
plus, i just got it last nite...
he said, if its more the a few days, then he strictly said, no warranty...
which is why i did a thorough test on the spot before i finally say, yes! this is the set i want...
and after this, he told me, i cannot swap anymore if its dead pixel related... fair enuf since its an AP set...
