QUOTE(alanaw @ Apr 12 2012, 12:41 PM) Hello, ur first concern:I've just recieved a job offer to work in pasir ris. I'm going over there this sat to do medical test for me EPass and to look for accomodation. May i know isit possible to me to look around for accomodation only when i'm in Sg, for example, look for the room availability on the bulletin board in the condos or apartment there? (trying to avoid agent fees). Secondly, my gf is moving along to Sg with me and she is currently working as a make up artist in KL. She has been trying to send her resume through jobstreet but we have not receive any feedback since. What are the chances of her securing job when she's in sg, walk in to look for job in the shopping mall outlet? Will they help to apply for work permit if she don't mind temporally settle down with any job (selling watch, spec and so on for the mean time just to settle down in sg while looking for better job)? Please advise.. TQ VERY MUCH http://www.backpackers.com.sg/ this can be temporary until u can secure a room. |

QUOTE(alanaw @ Apr 12 2012, 01:48 PM) Thank you very much. actually for ur 2nd concern, i dare not comment much.Guys, no reply? WELL, I guess this is Malaysia Hospitality afterall? i personally think your gf should remain working in KL while continue looking for job in SG. if she moves to sg and gets lucky, it's all gonna be smooth probably as how you've both planned it out. but if she still cant get any job after a certain time, both of you can get frustrated, if she's weak mentally, she'll probably break down and lost it. being jobless and yet not getting hired over a certain time can be a real torture, it might affect both your relationship too. if you can support her living expenses, and she can be patient in looking for a job here, then i guess it's alright? i wont deny it's a lot easier and convenient to hunt for jobs if she's living in singapore over malaysia. just consider the possibilities b4 u make the decision. probably have her move to sg with you after a few months, it's much better once u're more familiar with the living expenses here and all. |
