QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Feb 14 2012, 05:13 PM) Where are you from? because my friends having the same problem, one from penang and one from ipoh, they never get a call from Sg and lastly they work at their hometown. We suspect that when Sg companies view ur CV, they will check your current address, if too far, they wont call you for interview. that is what we think, correct me if i m wrong hi,yhoong, nice to meet you.. I am from Johor..and the distance between SG and my hometown not really far.it takes about 1 and half hour to SG...sadly,I dun even receive even 1 interviewing call for the time being.... is there any alternative for me to reach these interviews as u think fit??thanks^^ Added on February 14, 2012, 5:19 pmor is it true that they demand experienced worker nowadays? QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Feb 14 2012, 05:35 PM) Hi, nice to meet you. Actually depend on the company you apply for, not necessary they demand for experienced worker. the best way is just keep sending resumes, no other option unless you want to do thing that once mentioned in this thread, go to the recruitment firm in Sg one by one and apply it on the spot. Duno this worked onot. i never try before. i see...thank you for the solution..i am going to take this and try to work it out..by the way,do u know how to get the info of the recruitment firms, for example:the address..

QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Feb 14 2012, 05:40 PM) i agree with you...but i dun wan my kids to come out not that street smart like us. there are things that can only be learnt back in m'sia. why bother if they get confused. if they ASSume, not ur fault. u got ur chance, n if they want u and it was a mistake, they will find a way to get u. actually, what i am worried is i leave a bad impression and image for them..they dun wan to hire foreigner,as hiring non-singaporean is slightly costly as compared to before...this is wat i know all that, correct me if i am wrong...

QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Feb 14 2012, 06:03 PM) well, u did not lie or misled them (them not asking is not misleading), so there is no bad impression. in fact, with a Sg number, it gives a better impression in my opinion as you "invested" in Sg. it shows that you are more keen to work here than the rest who does not have a Sg number. yeah...no pain no gain...tomorrow i will go get myself a sg number!

QUOTE(jasonkwk @ Feb 14 2012, 10:18 PM) I actually got my singapore job with malaysia HP number and malaysia address. maybe the job is low class,so they don't mind dialling international number. contact number is seen important in getting a job from singapore~~hehe

QUOTE(MPIK @ Feb 15 2012, 09:44 AM) If you are considering a move to SG, ppl will not only arguing bout working benefits and environment but instead ppl will be much more concern about social lifestyle, family comfort, children education, healthcare, political stability, safety etc 1 more thing for sure, the KFC incident will not happen in SG at least. damn agree with u! Added on February 15, 2012, 12:19 pmQUOTE(deodorant @ Feb 14 2012, 11:49 PM) supply and demand. if there is huge supply for local singaporean fresh grads for your field, why would any company go through all the trouble to even call you for an interview (unless it wants to hire you cheaper than locals)? as long as i get a job from there,it is not about financial benefit or compensation i am looking at,as a fresh grad, what i am looking for is gaining and learning experience and skill from the job...some time later,my performance will tell everything actually~ This post has been edited by jett991: Feb 15 2012, 12:19 PM

hey guys, i just give some opinions on working in SG...I am working in SG with an EP; just feel that SG is a place to work, solely for that, nothing is greater than our motherland(Malaysia);the bad is only our government,if our government is good, people-oriented,corruption-free,upholding the law of the country, emphasis on corporate government,i believe we all dun be so suffered to work at another country, right??
Added on May 7, 2012, 11:34 amI pray to God,hopefully I can gain sufficient experience,to be professionally qualified(hopefully it will be smooth in this 3-5years),go back to serve my country, our newly formed government! i encourage u guys to come back to serve the country,to let it continue to prosper; i believe that u guys dun wan to see our country always lags behind of other country, right?

QUOTE(mercury8400 @ May 7 2012, 11:44 AM) hahaha that was initially most people's plan including my own. Then things change when you start to have a SG GF and a close bunch of friends in SG... so do u mean that after u have SG GF,everything has been changed already??haha but apparently i can see on my own, a lot of singaporeans, whenever there is a holiday or weekend, they will certainly get out of that limited land space...personally,i do feel that living in SG is quite stressful!

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ May 7 2012, 11:51 AM) Haha, new government? Lets pray hard for it, if you see how BN is planning for winning the next election, then you know if the new government can be form onot. Foreigner registered as eligible voters, malaysian who haven register as voter also automatic become voters.(Dunno where the vote will go if you din vote). Mass Media cover the dirty work of Police and many more. Like you say, who want to become Foreign talent if can success in own country. trust in ur motherland is the key! u look at the past election held at other countries, eg: Myammar, French, Thailand and so on, their political landscape has been changed! do u believe that their election is completely free and fair??towards clean and fair poll, there is a process need to be going thru... so i believe the change is coming round of corner since malaysia is blessed with rich natural resources and God protection.
