Would like to ask about the Maybank and CIMB in singapore. Are they linked with our Malaysian Branches? Meaning like if i deposit my SGD in the SG Maybank and I can access that account in Malaysian Maybank?

Well, my scenario is I need to pay back my PTPTN loans through online. Thus, was thinkin if I open a Maybank account in SG, then could I pay to PTPTN through the SG Maybank?

$15 per online transfer from Maybank SG -> Maybank MY... good only if you are transferring very large amount.

alternatively, you can use Maybank SG ATM card to withdraw cash (RM) in malaysia maybank ATM machine,
then deposit it into your Maybank MY account via the deposit machine.

Any of you hosted family for a couple nights before on the cheap? As in like, I need to house like 8 adults for 2 or 3 nights. Too many people to fit into my HDB, and hotel accommodation is like $200 x 4 rooms x 3 nights = $2,400 doh.gif

2 x quad rooms x 3 nights = $768

or

8 x dorm beds x 3 nights = $480
maybe they have 8 beds per dorm room then can occupy the entire room... rolleyes.gif

you got to get down once to pass singapore immigration, then board the bus again, then get down again at malaysia immigration, then board the bus again. i forgot which side you gotta drag all your luggage with you also, just follow what all the other passengers are doing, if they take their luggage than you also take yours.
*
entering need to take all luggage, no matter entering malaysia or entering singapore...

unless you are so desperate to work in SG as soon as possible, else just take your time and apply from Malaysia...

Hey guys, any Malaysian successfully granted a PR in 2012? I have few colleagues - Indian and PRC's PR application has been rejected.

I plan to apply this year, but i think its quite tough nowadays.
