Just received this in email... finance salaries still looking good in Singapore (non-banking btw). China is catching up fast though.

What surprises me, is that HK's pay is so much lower compared to Singapore. I for one expected them to be relatively similar, given that the perception of HK as financial powerhouse and the so-called gateway to China.

It's harder for Singaporeans to hate Malaysians, generally because there's a lot of them who actually knows Malaysians personally, and I think a lot of Singaporeans end up marrying Malaysians.

Under such circumstances it's hard for them to come out with a blanket statement that Malaysians are horrible people, even if we really are, simply because it clashes against their personal exposure to Malaysians.

As for PRCs.. well. given their language barriers, and culturally they are somewhat different, they're less likely to be friends (not ruling it out completely though), therefore they are in fact, an easier target.

Hi. Anyone has any experience with creepy taxi drivers?

My GF worked late recently and took the cab home. The taxi driver was saying things weird creepy things like "i wanna take you home and i wanna follow u back to KL" and stuff like that. Any avenues available for us to report the taxi driver?

Thanks.

hold up the camera phone, the driver should get the idea to stop talking nonsense. Then ask for a PRINT receipt.

Wouldn't that 'hold up camera phone' action just provoke more aggression from the taxi driver? (though in any case, the moment she's on the taxi, her options to defend herself is somewhat limited. sigh.)

doh.gif This is Singapore, you think too much. SG taxi is driven by Singaporean, if you think they are dangerous then I can't imagine what will happen to your GF in other country.

If your GF already start working here, she should know how to make good use of the phone in this situation right?

After the PRC hijack Taxi case, the taxi driver here need more protection than the passenger.

Hahaha. Sorry la, I don't work in singapore, so not familiar with the singaporean taxi drivers. (thus my tendency to assume they behave like typical malaysians)
