happen on saturday, during heavy rain at KL...
can i claim for warranty and exchange with new one?
*
Happened to mine when new, too... tongue.gif
Only happens in heavy rain & @speed/strong winds. Slight seepage via headlamp covers.
It'll dry up by itself with time.

If wanna more permanent solution, juz seal arnd edges of the headlamp covers with clear silicone sealant.
Simple DIY. thumbup.gif
Not need 2waste hrs @SCs... doh.gif sweat.gif

i know it will dry up itself, but if we left it dry, the stain will remain inside the cover and transparency reduced and kinda blur... any idea how to open it and clean it from inside?
*
To open up & clean it up fr inside is a BIG story!! Need to take out headlamps; unclip the covers; clean up and re-seal plus reverse the procedures!! rclxub.gif
Not worth the exercise, Bro! sweat.gif

If first time, feel not much dirt went in...mostly water. So stains are negligible. rolleyes.gif
Juz seal it after allowing it to dry...or use hot air gun/hairdryer @low heat to speed up drying process.

Did so for mine & it's good till now...a year almost oledi...hehe... thumbup.gif tongue.gif

ps. With slow careful sealing, the seal wld b almost unnoticeable...so no worries abt looks... icon_rolleyes.gif

Only 4ppl in car?

How old is the car (age/usage)? Mayb time to change those parts... tongue.gif

i park my car under the hot sun now, hopefully it dry up faster. mind to share any photo where is the location we need to seal it? i've no idea where is the opening  sweat.gif
*
For lower edge, between the clear lamp covers and the bumper....in the gap?
For upper edge, between the clear lamp covers and the headlamp housing....
For sides, between clear lamp covers and fender...
Cut the sealant tube nozzle head to fit the gap to seal...

1 tube of Bostik clear silicone sealant leaves a lot of leftovers for future use... tongue.gif

Car 2years old..
Yup..change to 15" rims
So need to change the abs n spring?
*
Test shocks...if still good, mayb change springs first...as rec by Bro V12K...

If budget no prob, then change both springs & shocks.
Try replace with those for FLX?
Seems stiffer & more solid support for 15" stock rims & tyres. rolleyes.gif

Dun wait 4warranty to finish cos warranty 4that part/sys may oledi b over!! doh.gif
Why?
Cos different parts/systems of car are covered under different warranty periods...eg Exhaust Sys only 12 mths/20k Km whichever is earlier! whistling.gif

Hi Bros...

Appears like this thread is going down the "Negative" path....downhill... sad.gif

Let's not paint such a disheartening picture of the Saga...juz becoz of a few lemons?
ALL cars makers produces lemons....rber Bro V12K's post a few pages back? whistling.gif

Frankly, there are 2 real life owners of Saga BLMs 2009 who are very happy with their cars....only minor probs incl the common IAFM replacement... thumbup.gif

So let's NOT discourage present & prospective future owners of Sagas...let's look at the Saga's POSITIVE points, ok? doh.gif

ps. Most Saga buyers truly kenot afford to buy those cars that cost so many times more than a Saga...AND the Saga was created for the common Msian... Not for those who can afford better... whistling.gif

i'm merely higlighting the facts. for that rm40-50k for a new saga, for me, getting a better used car seems more logical. proton is still a proton. no matter how hard they try, evidently, its still the same.

besides, zeone, u also mentioned that the new saga is a step back from the old saga, due to a few factors, need i remind u? rolleyes.gif
*
Yup, Bro Eric...agreed re above. A Proton is a Proton. No doubt abt that. blush.gif

However, when we bought it, we knew oledi that it IS a Proton. True? tongue.gif

And as alwaz, Luck counts in any purchase of anything Man-made. Correct? doh.gif

And yup, me rber saying that, too. However, when I got the Saga, I had to look at the steps forward that the Saga now comes with...eg MPI, COP, DBW....
I hv oledi added those few "missing" accessories that the new Saga came without eg auto window. A minor inconvenience.
All in all, the Saga is not such a bad car...that's the important point.

Am very sorry abt the recent overheating probs yu're faced with...but i feel those probs can b overcomed if yr car gets the attention of a GOOD mech... wink.gif
Wish you all the very best...watever yr decision...watever makes yu happy! smile.gif

ps. Advice to all prospective car buyers :
If yu can afford it, always go for the Top of the Range in the model yu've decided to buy.
There IS a difference...a very beneficial difference... tongue.gif
Moreover, buying a NEW car is not something we do every day, correct?

Best wishes & Good Luck!! thumbup.gif rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

B4 I got my NEW Saga, I was also contemplating a USED City, Vios and even an Accord...my "Dream" car? blush.gif
However, after consulting ppl arnd me, I was strongly advised against doing so...
I even hv a close relative who got a USED Accord instead of a NEW City (at abt the same price)...He got BURNT badly...in its 3rd year!! doh.gif

So the choice is alwaz OURS....
Juz be happy with our decision & accept what comes with it...
Hv a nice wkend!! rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

NB. Buying a car...any car...is NOT an investment...
It's a LOSS! Juz do some calculations.... blush.gif

When your car was fine you were so happy with it, saying how to 1.3 is gooding, touge like nobody's business and you even went as far as getting flamed for saying one is not Malaysian if one don't support Proton.

What's your story now? your car overheated so you retract all your statements?

If you wanna change to a better car, I have your back. But you are spending money for all the wrong reasons and blaming Proton does not justify it.
*
Yup, in this case Proton is NOT 2b blamed....nor the cause of it... rolleyes.gif

Bro Eric, we feel for yu but pls...pls...keep a cool head, ok?
As our Bro here says..."....have your back."

And after all, this is a Proton BLM thread...AND yu are its TS.... whistling.gif

To eliminate any noise in a car, first step is to identify location/source of noise.
Then only can use best remedy eg adjust, tighten, insulate or replace. tongue.gif

Re new TS, feel Bro Eric shld continue cos he has done a great job thus far.
However, if he still insists, we hv 2respect his wishes.

As is, Bro V12K is a good next-in-line successor...

Oh? sad.gif
However, glad 2note he's ok. thumbup.gif

Get well soon, Bro Eric!! If nothing physical, do get over the trauma lo...

Also driver's airbag was deployed. Another + for new Saga! rclxms.gif

Guys, I'm not sure if anyone has faced this before but my glove compartment can't be opened suddenly. I can carry the handle up but its still closed. My car is almost 2 years old. Should I take it back to Proton or just get a regular accessory shop to check it out ? Anyone knows how much would it cost ?
*
Part of opening mechanism is probably faulty/broken. sad.gif
Dun think accessory shops stock such parts.
Suggest yu try Proton SCs.
If lucky, yu might be "rewarded" with a warranty claim? whistling.gif
