Hi All the experts, I just gotten the quotation for my extension kitchen

As below, please give me some feedback where it is exp or reasonable?

18"x5" kitchen extension + cement roof top
- 2"x2" floor tile
- 1" x2" wall tile
- 4"x6" powder coated window
- 18"x5" plaster ceiling RM 15,500.00

cement kitchen table top RM 4,480.00
extended kitchen cement roof top convert to balcony RM 3,900.00


expensive or normal? haven't include the permit from DBKL.

ok ic but can give me some tips how to know whether they do it properly or not? How to check? And what should I pay more attention when contractor doing their work?

i got quotation from 3 diff contractor, all roughly from rm15k to 16k. I nvr reveal contractor quotation to 1 and other. Is this coincidence or really that price? according to the contract, they will need to hack my wall and dig and build another 2 beam at the end of left and right corner to support the extension wall. I can choose cement brick(I duno what it called. it is grey color) or red sand brick(i oso duno what this called, it is red color).

I oso ask contractors to quote labor for painting for me. RM6k for in and out, outside apply sealer(Am I spell it correctly?), which type of paint are up to me to choose, I do request for nippon aircare. And the other 1 contractor ask me goto buy paint myself and they FOC paint for me, same 2 layer in and out + outside with sealer foundation.

Really got such big "Toad" jumping on the street or not? What should I clarify up-front to the contractor 1 be4 we come to a point that cause argument?

Hi, sorry for late reply. if im not mistaken should be 28". It is L-Shape. He quoted me RM160 per sq ft. It is 2"x2" a "mable looks like" tile(I duno what this material call, but definitely not mable). It is black color with some blinking dust in there. I hope you understand what I'm saying. This contractor have completed around 6 - 8 houses renovation in my area. He bring me to see his works for other houses.

Since you guys said it is cheap, now i'm worry about the foundation beam of the extension kitchen.

I heard even contractor oso got gang 1, just like gangster. It is like they have area incharge. If some other contractor bring in by house owner, will be harassing by the contractors there. Actually got such thing or not?. I saw some sign in my area. Basically my area major of the house owner let this 2 contractors handle the renovation, I heard some news there are 2 or 3 contractors brought in by owners, some do half-way then stop for some reason, some took the money then few days later MIA. Actually I got another trusted contractors, but I scared the problem i mention above happen if i let my trusted contractor do, i scared other 2 contractors purposely cause issue to my house and my contractor.

nop. I dun plan to extend my 1st flood. so normal pillar will do? the contractor said will need to do digging and rebuild the pile.

Added on February 3, 2012, 2:44 pmYa, I understand that, if I keep on demand discount from the contractor. end-up bad quality workmanship. That y I'm not always request more discount from the contractor. Once I see the particular section is over my budget I just drop it instead of ask more discount.
