hi, i need some assistance. i am planning to apply for mymasters. i got accepted in a local uni for masters and got the offer letter. i've not studied at a local uni before and i really dont know how things work there. anyway, mine is a mixed mode program and a research proposal is required. the problem is that i dont even have a supervisor to certify or acknowledge my proposal. is it possible to send in the application without the proposal? pls help...

Is your Master Course by coursework or by research?

If it is by research, what do you fill in the Tarikh Tamat Pengajian?

If I filled in that i can finish it by three years, does that mean they only pay me up to three years?

We can't guess what's in your head. Can you just go straight to the point?

The standard procedure is to apply for extension six months before the tentative end date of the study program (as specified in the contract), to allow adequate time for processing the application for extension. Submitting application near the end date of the study may delay the processing time.

Since the issue is escalated to this stage, you should highlight your issue to the Treasury Office to find out what options are available to you. You are also advised to discuss the matter with your main supervisor to see if he or she can employ you as a research assistant on a temporary contract, say 6 months. After obtaining the approval,you'll be reimbursed for the approved expenses related to your study.

I waited 6 months like you too until I had the chance to meet the person-in-charge personally. Right after that, within a week after I met him, my application for the extension was approved. If I had met him earlier, then they would have approved it much earlier.

If you ever have the chance to meet the person in charge, please do it and tell him.
