Just started looking into MyBrain15 and i'm a little concerned with the 5-year bond after completing graduate studies. I'm going the research->academia route so the normal progression after PhD would be to secure a post-doc position somewhere. With the 5-year bond, does that mean i can only look for post-doc positions at IPTAs?

QUOTE(Blofeld @ Sep 1 2013, 02:32 PM) I have asked this before. U can still do a post-doc overseas although you are bonded to work in Malaysia. Just write to MyBrain that you are going overseas for a post-doc. Simple as that. QUOTE(jonoave @ Sep 1 2013, 04:49 PM) "Hi Kak ofis MyBrain. Dik nak gi overseas jap, buat postdoc. Kthnxbai. XOXOxO." Sorry, was feeling trolllish. But on serious notes, yes most unis offered this. Even fellowship progammes in most local uni,s you can request to do postdoc first before serving the bond. So I think the same probably applies to MyBrain. Okay, that's a relief. Does the bond means i have to work in Malaysia for 5 years, or for the Malaysian government for 5 years...? Because the academia is notoriously difficult to get into. Who is to say any of the IPTAs in Malaysia would have a position in my field at the exact moment when i need the job?

QUOTE(Blofeld @ Sep 10 2013, 06:18 PM) An officer from MyBrain told me as long as you work in Malaysia for 5 years. Any companies in Malaysia, government institution or private companies. Thanks for the heads up!
