I think if u wont sell ur car in short term (but i heard forte resale value already improved a lot) and you can accept the FC, it will be a very good choice bcoz  forte comes with many features and the price is much more cheaper compare to other segment C cars.
anyhow, u should go for a test drive n judge by yourself.

from the threads i gone thru (not many in fact), FC for
city drive with min traffic jam about 10-11L/100km
city drive n always stuck in traffic jam maybe up to 14L/100km
and many ppl say itz depend on ur right foot

the FC whether high anot is quite individual la... to me, i can accept it mah
when i buy this car, i did not compare the fc with civic and i think altis fc will be better.
i think the price difference included the interest can cover lotsa thg.
and dun forget those features. those safety features like ecs is very important to me and i like all other features eg blutooth, gps n so on.
so, i chose forte (after long waiting for elantra n the price disappointed me)

I'm consistently getting about 9L/100km. Usually refuel about 85 bucks... About 45litres and mileage is about 500+.

Route is from Putra heights to bukit jalil daily, with jam on LDP in Puchong in the mornings.

I think the FC is very good for a car of this size.

Btw, mine is a 2010 1.6sx, hitting 60k km soon.

FC is a important criteria to concern other than that most important u enjoy the driving the car

Nic, the 2.0 is worth getting if it's within your budget range. But if you are always in start stop traffic, the 1.6 will give you better FC definitely. Compared to my wife's old Vios which gave her 530km for rm75 then it will lose la but Vios is a Vios, and that car will give you no satisfaction at all besides a good Fc.. My scirocco gives me 550km with spirited driving for rm95, 680km with sedated driving for the same amount. So honestly, the forte's FC should be no concern at all for anyone.

I think I have no complaints about the forte. It might not look as good as the elantra but I think driving wise, it's better and it also has a better engine response. it's also spacious so you won't have to worry about carrying more people or groceries. I used to travel up and down kl Seremban for almost 1.5 years. No issues at all.

I think resale value isn't too bad. Just renewed my insurance and was proposed 61k for a 2 year old car. That's a 25% depreciation which I feel is acceptable for any 2 year old car. Mudah prices for 2010 car ranges from 63 to 68k

They promise me that they will arrange technical people to call me to setup appointment to look into my car about the noise of wind blowing in the car in 1 or 2 weeks time but no one call me. So, I called them last Friday and they told me will get the service advisor in charge to call me back immediately. I ask him why must takes them so long to set an appointment with the technical people. He told me because the technical people is having training in Korea. They only have one team running around M'sia.   

Until today, no one call me. Beh tahan!! My hubby fix the problem by himself in less than 1/2 hour. Actually he's working for another car company and he knew why and where the noise come from. We just want the Kia to fix their problem and not to void any warranty because the noise was start from the day i got my car. I've hint the service advisor that the noise come from windscreen and he insist is from engine and door. That's why they need the specialist technical team to solve it. OMG! So simple thing also can't fix it.

The Kia Red Cube Service Centre is really really unexperience, lack of knowledge and very poor service. Don't ever go there.

Kia Rio and Picanto launching have been delayed indefinately due to some new safety requirements imposed by the government on new models. My guess is it would be in the 3rd or 4th quarter this year at the earliest.  The safety requirements might require some improvisation to the bumpers, this is what I heard.

No sedan, only the hatchback. Perhaps Naza does not want to create another competitor to Forte. Personally, I like the sedan better. Golf hatchback is selling well, Naza is convinced that hatchback has its market and demand will be good.
