Planning on getting a forte soon, just wondering what are the best promotions that you have managed to bargained? I am looking for a full bodykit with the new HU with any other freebies.

QUOTE(mojoman @ May 5 2012, 07:11 PM) the SA from Penang told me the GPS is free for live? he says just activate once and you can use it as long as you want and get free map upgrades from the speednavi website. anyways i tested the touch response of the HU and its quite sensitive. kindda nice. Only change is the ipod jack. It has been replaced with a USB port. so i seal the deal with free bodykit and 1k cash rebate for 1.6SX with the GPS HU. Not sure if this is a good deal or not.... U got urself a good deal i guess. I sealed mine without the 1k cash rebate but he gave other stuff such as coil matt and door visor with the k emblem with full bodykit. if i were you i would take that 1k cash rebate and top it up for a new set of rubbers. the tyres are really noisy.

QUOTE(mojoman @ May 6 2012, 02:24 PM) You bought from Krystal Point Penang branch? I am thinkin of using the 1k for tinting. Tyres i think wait for it to finish first before changing to Michelin becos i think those low profile tyres wont be cheap. Did ur SA tell u that the SpeedNavi GPS is free for life? Alot of ppl in this thread saying need to pay RM60 yearly for service. Actually if ur car is still not out. i would reckon that u take the older model with the normal HU. the new HU is hopeless. sound quality bad, radio also receiving is not that good. if ur playing music with usb it will detect only some mp3's the rest even if detected cannot play. then the player will hang. i would say get the additional rebate of RM2500 without the new HU is a better deal. take that money and go install a better audio. to answer ur question regarding speednavi..i dont know i have yet to get my codes from my SA and i got fed up and installed papago instead. on the forum here is stated that speednavi is free for 1 year only, but my SA also tells me it is free for life. Seen postings about ppl asking about papago in the new HU. its working fine and like a charm. i cannot compare with speednavi as i have yet to try it out.

QUOTE(Dyensem @ May 7 2012, 09:18 PM) Yea.. i want to know too..tried copy the file from my current gps, after change the route, error message come out.. i downloaded the file from some website, then basically just got the correct com port and baud rate and put it all in the correct folders. after that everything works fine. i tried setting navigation to several locations got no problems. did a road search and also play around with the poi search. did not face any problems. most likely ur file is corrupted, try getting the file from another source. also i saw another member asking about garmin.. i am not sure about having it in the new HU but according to the forum, i remember reading that garmin is for high end processors only and not for the regular processor players like ours.

QUOTE(izputra @ May 13 2012, 11:17 AM) I believe something is not right..it should not take that long (10-20 minutes) for the air blowed from the aircond vents to be cold. Kindly make a complain to the SC. In less than half a minute, the air blowed from the aircond vents should feel cold already..but of course it needs several minutes to cool down the entire cabin. Anyway, a good tint surely helps to cool the cabin faster. agreed! something is not right. I too am experiencing the same kinda problem. my car is less than 1 month old, but it was not like this before, so after asking around i have been told some forte's do have ac problems. the problem is due to the compressor. so i am planning to go ask my sc to change it for me already, i dont know about others but a/c is quite a big part of car's comfort to me. with a malfunctioning a/c i really get damn pissed at the car.

QUOTE(izputra @ May 14 2012, 10:54 AM) Yupp..i believe so. I still remember last time, several month after Forte launching, got several SX owners having problem with their AC compressor. In fact, their AC compressor has been replaced due to malfunctioning. So the same issue might have occurred again i guess. Also, the cooling capacity of the AC might not be at the optimal point if the refrigerant pressure & lubricant inside the system is not sufficient. So might try ask the SC to check the refrigerant pressure first before we can conclude that the compressor itself is malfunctioning. Else, in the extremely rare cases since that the Forte also got heater function, might be the heater valve is leaking or malfunctioning that might introduce hot water (car coolant) to also circulate in the AC system thus increasing the air temperature (lessen the cooling capacity). An AC expert at the SC should know on how to troubleshoot this. I was made to understand that Forte AC compressor is a dual-clutch type which will lessen the engine burden & the electrical power needed when it kicks-in. That's why we can hardly notice when the AC compressor kicks-in coz no light is dimming, sounds is kept to minimal & even no changes in RPM (so the car wont jerk when the AC compressor starts when we drive). Though this is some good features for us, but replacing it out of the warranty might be costly. As a moral of this paragraph, please dont burden your AC compressor to the max especially for a long period by setting the temp to less than 20 deg. Set the temp to 24-26 deg might be a good move in order to prolong the AC compressor's life & it saves fuel too if that is the case my compressor or my a/c confirm got big problem already! i set my temp at 19 and it is rather cold for me ( just nice la) if i set anything above 20....omg ....my car got hi tech dual zone a/c already driver side like warm air coming out passenger side will be cold. it is really frustrating me. if any brothers here can give good advice on this matter would be a major help.

QUOTE(Proclaimer @ May 16 2012, 03:58 PM) Same case for me. If auto set to low blower speed, then the driver side will be colder than the passenger side. Asked Kinrara SC they said its normal because of the location of the compressor. Somehow i doubt that really funny these fella's. i think they are trying to take us for a ride. On my side my SC told me that when i complain this issue my driver side blower is less than the passenger side and also emitting warm air instead of cold air. they told me the reason the aircond is not as powerful on the driver side is due to the blower is located at the passenger's side. ( which i think its total bullshit, most cars i think the blowers are located at the passenger side and i dont seem to have this problem with my previous car which the blower is located on the bottom left). as for the cooling problem they have still yet to solve and i am heading over this saturday to solve this 1 and for all (hopefully!!)
