Becoz I was also changed to caltex 5w40 for my 20k service and I found the performance was better than petronas a lot.
Better throttle response even thought the oil is thicker than petronas, it is better for my car becoz I used to rev to 5-6k of rpm

NSS glenmarie? i also got same prob with u.. last time go there do major service for 40k also she told me the same thing. Summore add another rm300 for new transmission fluid ZIC ATF SP-IV (12X1L) item description. This fluid cost like rm 80/L and forte use it 4L.. so 4xrm80= rm 320!   compare to original ATF XP/209l only cost rm83 for 4liter!   so my major service cost add up around 800++ woo.. any1 got xperience like dis??

Anyway, I've got to say that this is a great thread. I learnt a lot from here and read enough feedback from Forte owners to the point where it made me sure of purchasing this car. Pros? Aplenty. Cons? Maybe a tinge but which car doesn't have any?

Am going to sign the documents today and hopefully I can get the car within this week (1.6 SX with new HU). For future buyers, there is this SA from Sunway Mentari that gave me quite a good deal. Perhaps there are better deals offered by other SA's but I'm quite pleased with this chap. He is always on the ball and has excellent customer service. He gave me the following:

I have a question that I hope you all won't mind helping me out with. I would like to tint my car and realized that in order for that to be done, the guys at the tint shop will have to detach my door panels. Now forgive me for being pedantic but I'm not very comfortable with that, especially if done by inexperienced/rough fellas leading to poor workmanship and ultimately ruining the rigidity of the panels (unnecessary vibration/loose/screws break etc). So, it would be great if you all could recommend a place in Klang Valley that does an excellent job?
