Nope. when i check just now, no power what so ever left in the car. This morning the cabin light can still lid, but become dimmer than usual. Now the car is like no power source connected to it.

Will call the breakdown assist first thing tomorrow. Hope it just the batt issue, nothing more serious.  cry.gif

Either your car battery is kong or perhaps there's something wrong with your car's alternator (didnot charge the battery)...

I'm using Medklinn car ionizer with no other car perfume whatsoever. The in-car air smells fresh like the after-rain smell thumbup.gif

1. As i remember..beside 6 speed...there are few features added such as auto fold side mirror, rear view camera, bluetooth and paddle shift.

2. I can say there are no big different for the fuel consumption and driving experience between these 2 version...maby slightly advantage for 6 speeder on the highway.

3. Most of the 2010 forte (maby all..im not sure)...are CBU from korea...if you make some researh about feedback from owners...there are not much complain especially for the quality issue...mine for example....my car really solid and tip top condition from day 1...i never encountered any problem like dashboard rattling sound or any annoying sound...my only minor problem so far is brake switch...but after i change it...problem solve. And for the 6 speeder..there are got some complain for the quality issue...but i think its just for minor issue maybe bcoz its CKD in msia.

4. I think most of the 4 speed forte only got 2 years warranty...but some of the owner like me had paid certain amount to get extended warranty for another 3 years with unlimited milage...and yes its can transfer to the new owner...so this is the important part if u want to look for used forte....but now all new forte come with 5 years warranty.

Point no. 3 : very much agreed wink.gif

hi all..i will go for my 1st 1000km service this weekend...mostly going to the puchong SC..anyone know if it is open on Sunday? and usually what is the total cost for 1st service?..exceed 500??
*
Sunday closed..half day on Saturday.

First service : Opt for mineral oil = RM8x.xx ; Opt for full syn oil : RM23x.xx

Exceed 500km = ok. Dont exceed 1000km, else warranty void

Exceed 1000km warranty void? What will happen after that.. pay for the labour?
*
Ohh sorry..my statement is unclear.Actually i meant this..In order to maintain the warranty, dont exceed the next 1000km after the first 1000km for the first service. In other words, u can send your car for the first service before u reach 2000km in overall mileage. Else, warranty void..In this case, if let say u send your car for the first service at mileage 2100km, the 5 year warranty void already..that was what i was told by the SC personnel last time..

But for labour, i'm not so sure. But i believe u still can get free labour for the first 3 services though u already breach the warranty.

so cheappp???.. laugh.gif

btw, what is the default oil that comes with forte??...full syn??..meaning i can reach 1500km baru go service?
*
Default engine oil..not sure..sorry. But i used full syn engine oil from the first service until now (50k+ km mileage currently)..i'm lazy to go to SC every 5k km, so opt for fully syn that give me longer service interval (10k km)

Yupp..u can reach up to 2000km..but better send the car for first service well below 2000km la wink.gif

Press the 'TRIP' button until u see the temperature bar. If i'm not mistaken, also got high temperature warning (will lid up in red) in the dashboard if in case we did not notice the temperature bar rising...

Ya, I know it look luxurious, but reliability is an issue compare to  the old radio. it crack my head choosing it. I tested it play rmvb file from usb port but cannot play youtube file (flv/mp4). The GPS softwars is not papago. Not sure can update map/software version in future? If taking the old radio, concern is the car will be outdated in 1 day. New HU reliability concern. GPS good to have but not everyday need it.
My loan approved and SA already identify, just left to choose the new/old HU. hard to decide.
*
IMHO, the new HU shouldn't easily prone to any problems. i'm sure they will perform some destructive test before they decide to install it. If it's not proven, i'm sure they will stick with the standard HU to avoid any problems later on. It's up to u to decide..it's your money & your car anyway smile.gif

Im thinking to go for 3M tint but afraid the built in gps cant receive signal after that coz heard some 3M users claim that cant use smartag after tinting.
Anyone can share the experience?
*
U might ask the tint installer about this..3M got many types/models of tint films. I'm sure got one that suits with GPS/Smart Tag functionality...

Can 2.0 change to 16in rim? Will it improve road noise n fc? Any owner did this. ?
*
Many did this including me. I can safely say that the NVH improves a lot (might depends on your tire selection & pressure as well). I'm using Continental ContiMAX Contact MC5 with profile 205/55 R16 by the way. For FC, if u opt for lightweight rims, it will surely do good to your FC & acceleration especially in town driving. I'm using rims weighing just 7kg instead of about 11kg if using the stock 17" rims...

is your figure same as this calculation?

for example, forte full tank is 55 and total travel KM is 500km. so 55liter divide by 500KM =  9KM per 1litre.
*
I guess most of us based on the on-board average fuel consumption meter displayed at the supervision cluster...

but I drive Myvi 1.3 on highway with 11km/hr, I get 16.5km/L which is 6.1L/100km.
If drive 80km/hr, the fc can go up to 20++ to 25km/L......... So, it is depand on drive nad road condition.
My normal daily drive ia long distanc, about 35km from home to office.
*
So on highway drive @ 110km/h, Forte 2.0 could easily match that MyVi FC figure of 6.1L/100km..hehe & that's done with the 4-speeder...

Guys, need to get some information. If I would like to change my rim to 16 inch, what will the compact be to my forte. Any recommendation of workshop that I can find reasonable price of rims and tire? Am actually looking for something like enkei for rim. Is there other which is more affordable and good?
Kinda noob here. Hope you all don't mind.
*
The design choices for 16" rim with 5 thuds PCD 114 is very limited. When i changed to 16" rims last year at rim's heaven (Klang), most of the rim shop just got about 3-5 types/designs of rim. It will be a tough task for u to find a rim that suit your taste. For me, i pick the lightest rim available though got other rim with better design (but with extra weight). Lightweight rims is good for pick-up & FC. So set your main preference..design or practicality wink.gif

hmm... then wat brand that you can suggest? OZ? Enkei or Advanti. Just want to make sure my family can sit comfortably in the car. Current tire and the wheel size seems like making the ride quite bumpy. As you also know HOW GOOD our road be.  smile.gif  So your total cost is about how much? inclusive tires and rim?
Thx for the information.
*
I cant suggest any brands actually..i suggest u to go the rim shop & look for yourself the available option. Again i must say..the choice is very limited for the 16" rims with 5 thuds. However, I ended up with an Advan Racing rims + Continental ContiMAX Contact MC5 tires. Rims price is about RM1350 if i'm not mistaken + tire price of about 420/piece..count it yourself bro tongue.gif Oh ya..i did traded in my original rims + tires @ RM1000

Rims price RM1350 /pc or 4 pcs? I am going to get forte and thinking to change after got my car. Thanks for your advice.
*
4 pcs..sorry for misleading statement. I guess Advance Racing rims is not that pricy right? hehe...

If possible, try to get the lightest rims available..that will surely improves acceleration & give better FC. Proven!

nothing different for the warranty other than the 3 years from allianz is an extended warranty, everything else is pretty much same including parts that is covered under the warranty. you will get a document mentioning what is covered and what is not within 1-6 months after you get your car. For service, yes you have to pay normal charges of course including labour (after you've used up the first 3 free labour charge vouchers given to you).

For warranty, yes it only covers if something is spoilt of course - that's how warranty works. What were you expecting? tongue.gif
*
Got different if i'm not mistaken. Need to pay insurance excess of RM200 for each claim..not applies for the first 2 years of warranty..please correct me if i'm wrong

hi guys , my forte is reaching 40k service and when i went for SC they quoted me over RM800 for 40k service, is that normal ? from my understanding , major 40k service will be changing auto transmission fluid. spark plug already changed during30k.

Thanks for the info all smile.gif
*
Kindly refer to first post..got maintenance pricing there. For 40k service, it should be around RM600 only including labour & government tax. Items/parts changed during 40k service should be :

1. Fully synthetic engine oil (unless u opt for mineral oil)
2. Oil filter
3. Oil plug gasket
4. Air filter (engine)
5. Auto transmission fluid (ATF)
6. Brake fluid
7. Radiator Coolant

If they charged u RM800 for the 40k service, i suspect they add on another unnecessary replacement parts (for the 40k km service) such as :
1. Spark plugs
2. Air filter (cabin)

So during your 40k service, ask for the service sheet & please check the parts list before u agree & sign the service sheet. U have all your right to insist on just 7 parts above to be replaced as stated in the manual (for the 40k service) nod.gif
