I am using Valvoline VR-1 and it is very good. Do the KIA SC accept oil purchased outside. No right?
*
I want to know this too. Anybody can confirm and SC that accepts engine oil purchase elsewhere?

Can, but it must be syntium too and if im not mistaken you need a letter of approval (i forgot from who) that you are using syntium not provided by SC..its a hassle really, unless you wanna save money on buying cheaper syntium
*
Anybody can confirm this? Hmm can only use syntium? hmm.gif But if its possible then cheaper syntium is better than nothing right? wink.gif

so conclusion does forte come with alarm by default?
*
NO alarm only immobilizer. Why alarm? Annoying and drains battery. Park at as safe place. Minimize risks. If cant then naza can install alarm system to your car with additional charge.

Near in mind alarm not only trigger siren but it also blocking ignition doesn't it? Batt flat out better than car lost I supposed
*
First of all get your facts right. Alarm is a triggering system to warn you about possible intrusion and NOT to prevent your car from being started. That's what the immobiliser is for. If you so worried why don't just install the alarm yourself? smile.gif

yup.. happened just outside my house. it's in Taman Goodwood, Klang. seriously must consider gated compound nowadays cry.gif
keep yours inside all times bro and jaga with a shotgun  thumbup.gif
aye. I hear you bro, but no moolah for a good system. just replaced the rims, tyres, glass and re-tint..  sad.gif  cry.gif

but I was quite surprised when I found out our baby don't come with an alarm system  sweat.gif
Btw for bros who are changing/planning to change the glass for forte (unlikely), there're two hues of our glass in the market: a normal plain glass (transparent) and a greenish hue one. I'm not sure why there're two variants but my baby comes with the greenish hue glass and the latter is much darker after tinting. got me headache for one week starring at the very bright passenger window before switching them to the right one doh.gif
*
Thats scary. rclxub.gif

Yeah i just drove mine and i notice there is a greenish colouration for all the windows and windscreen. Not sure if thats the design for the uv glass?

TYTY  rclxms.gif .. guess ill just go with Forte...cause the interior attract me most...really cant find a 80k-90k care range still comes with a navigation screen..and reverse cam...elantra is plain till max..is just the spacious seat and leather seat + edgy new face lifted design attracts..anyway...thnx anyway !!...
*
Forte interior is quite good. well balanced and personally i agree too that within that price range, its unbeatable for its design interior and exterior wise.

Hard plastics at some places but its well balanced out. Feels more premium if you know what i mean. biggrin.gif

Inspira would have been my second choice due to its close ties with mitsu.

EPS is subjective. Some people like me prefer the beefier hydraulic power steering. I can feel more feedback from the wheels too compared to EPS.

To make things clear. Only 1.6 WHITE and 2.0 TITANIUM SILVER have the new HU. Depends if you want to take aftermarket HU or not. For me the new HU is quite decent. Unless you change the speakers and the HU at the same time, there wont be much difference in sound quality.

I was told by SA from NAZA last month that only 1.6 white comes with the new HU first, following by other colour. Looks like they were wrong. smile.gif

all kind of forte now come with new hu aswell

is true due to white is most hot selling color ,so all the customer will get the white with new HU 1st then only other color . last month other color still have old stock so they dont release all the new stock. honestly i feel that new speednavi GPS system is not so friendly on the interface , i am try to change it to papago . will update u once i success  ^^ .
*
True. I am looking around for papago to be installed in the new HU also. Will try out the speednavi first before deciding to try and change it. Im wondering if the HU only detects speednavi.exe as an application or does it detect any .exe file as an executable for GPS. If yes then changing to papago/garmin is highly likely.

anyone come across plastic scratch remover?

glossy black plastic at hazard light/gear is getting scratches, looks ugly if under sunlight, dusty too.. rclxub.gif
*
I was thinking to get shop to put sticker along the glossy edges of the HU and gear console. Probably carbon fiber sticker maybe? Anyone got good info regarding this?

Yeah there are cuts in the reception. Try to off the AF. It helps. But I want to complain to sc to see what they can do. It's annoying sometimes.

The 1st time i went to Kinrara....Cannot...Then I went to CSL SC 2 times, still the same
Any place where I can file a complaint??
*
Just went to kinrara SC today, left it there for half a day. Tested on some uneven road around the SC, seems to settle the dashboard and door rattling sound. Touchwood it wont happen again. biggrin.gif

I m from KL, seems like I will need to leave it there for a week then
But it's very inconvinient for me to do tat as I need the car to go to my office
Really dissapointed in this vmad.gif
*
Why dont you go back to Kinrara? Mine seems to be done in half a day. Mine might be too early to say its solved but for now its good. Sometimes have to understand that to pin point the exact thing that makes the sound is hard especially the dashboard.

Hi, after they have done the job, did you find scratches on your dashboard or not installed back properly? I am also facing this dashboard noise problem for over 9 months but don't dare for them to do as scared of scratches. Another squeaky sound just came out from the cup holders behind the gear shifter.  blink.gif
*
I don't see any major scratches on the dashboard. If you are afraid then you can takes some pictures before they do the job as proof. I think my dashboard problem is solved but there is still a faint sound on the door. Time will tell if the problem will persists.

erm.
planning to add a camera at the front bumper and connect it to the HU; activated upon request. anyone know whether is this possible?
*
It is more practical to install sensors for the front rather than just a camera.

QUOTE(kelvin_ncp @ May 4 2012, 10:56 PM)
anyone got the speednavi software serial no? I need it to register in speednavi website?

Please request from naza. If your SA is good/efficient enough you may ask them to request for you.

Sensor is also a good suggestion. How much it cost and normally how many front sensors are required? Two or four?

Btw, will this void the warranty?
*
Four if you are afraid. Price please check at shops near you so you can get a rough idea.

Warranty wont be voided unless they cut wires and connect somewhere else.

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ May 6 2012, 08:59 AM)
Well it doesn't prevent 100% but it'll buy some time. If the thieves wants to steal your car - nothing can stop them actually. On the other question - the car won't drive without the keyfob or remote inside BUT if your engine is already started and you take away the keyfob while the engine is running, the car can still drive but you will hear an annoying beep (not sure how long that will go on) but its still driveable if the engine is already started and the remote is taken away. And this is for the SX model, for the EX model since it is using the traditional ignition key, it won't behave this way (it behaves just like every other car with ignition)
*
Have you actually tried driving the car without the key inside the car?
