QUOTE(CKH2012 @ May 12 2012, 08:48 PM) Did the insulation at the pipes myself, normally i set at 23 to 24 deg c even during hot afternoon and it is cold enuf with 4 passengers inside. Checked the cabin temperature b4 and after, just 1 deg c lower. Hi Bro, 23 to 24 deg? Hi Randeron, No experience with raytech, my previous car use 3M (sorry can't remember the grade), is decent enough, and i got warranty for 7 years, after 7 years, it really started to peel off at the front windscree, other sides still OK. By the way can share some pictures here of the installation. QUOTE(izputra @ May 13 2012, 11:17 AM) I believe something is not right..it should not take that long (10-20 minutes) for the air blowed from the aircond vents to be cold. Kindly make a complain to the SC. In less than half a minute, the air blowed from the aircond vents should feel cold already..but of course it needs several minutes to cool down the entire cabin. Anyway, a good tint surely helps to cool the cabin faster. Hi Bro, not sure what is wrong but sometimes during hot weather about 34 - 35 deg the air cond air seem to be not that cold. I will make another complain.QUOTE(bornwilder @ May 13 2012, 03:16 PM) agreed! something is not right. I too am experiencing the same kinda problem. my car is less than 1 month old, but it was not like this before, so after asking around i have been told some forte's do have ac problems. the problem is due to the compressor. so i am planning to go ask my sc to change it for me already, i dont know about others but a/c is quite a big part of car's comfort to me. with a malfunctioning a/c i really get damn pissed at the car. Hi Bro, Can pm more about the compressor prob and how are you going to ask the Sc to change? Yeah when the air cond is not cold for about 5-10 minutes you start to get unhappy. Need to be moving that long only will cabin cold but then sometimes the air coming out is not 18 degs. Even my passengers start to complain. |

I am contemplating to get 1.6 SX but is also looking forward to do the below minor changes. Will it void the warranty and if yes which part will be affected? Thanks in advance for enlightening me
1) changing rims to 16" 2) changing to iridium spark plug 3) changing knn drop in filter 4) ground cabling with volt stabilizer 5) adding in a 4ch amp (no idea on the Hi-Lo yet) 6) changing the speakers for SQ purpose 7) adding UR front strut bar 8) changing the crank pulley to a lightened CP This post has been edited by Suicider: May 14 2012, 01:15 AM |

I think there is some problem whtrader's AC. Even my 12 years old iswara (AC, all original, no more tinted, peel off) does not take 20 minutes to cool. |

Hi Bro, 23 to 24 deg? By the way can share some pictures here of the installation. Will try to take some photo in the weekend, currently car is not with me......is very simple only, if not mistaken, you can find some info in internet. i) u just need to find those insulation hose (those similar in your house air con), ii)locate the cold part of the AC pipes (u can feel with your hand after u run your aircond). Warning, do not touch directly with your hand as there are a few pipes which are hot (also, do not insulate these pipes). Just feel by putting your hands near it, or if you have those temperature gun, it is helpful. Another helpful tip is, those cold pipes will have some water condensation on it. iii)wrap it and tie with cable tie,etc........... There are some insulation that comes with adhesive, but it can be very messy after that. |

QUOTE(sonyman @ May 13 2012, 03:59 PM) try press the accelerator less, u may find the difference at certain RPM , say about 2500 to 3000. Not really can feel it, but i'm sure that the throttle body sound is louder.try it. Btw is you really want, i can sell mine to you, usage max 100km only... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...entry51239337 This post has been edited by little_orc: May 14 2012, 10:26 AM |

QUOTE(CKH2012 @ May 14 2012, 10:03 AM) Yeap, it is tinted. as you said, 23 - 24 is sufficient. Yupp..i believe so. I still remember last time, several month after Forte launching, got several SX owners having problem with their AC compressor. In fact, their AC compressor has been replaced due to malfunctioning. So the same issue might have occurred again i guess. I think there is some problem whtrader's AC. Even my 12 years old iswara (AC, all original, no more tinted, peel off) does not take 20 minutes to cool. Also, the cooling capacity of the AC might not be at the optimal point if the refrigerant pressure & lubricant inside the system is not sufficient. So might try ask the SC to check the refrigerant pressure first before we can conclude that the compressor itself is malfunctioning. Else, in the extremely rare cases since that the Forte also got heater function, might be the heater valve is leaking or malfunctioning that might introduce hot water (car coolant) to also circulate in the AC system thus increasing the air temperature (lessen the cooling capacity). An AC expert at the SC should know on how to troubleshoot this. I was made to understand that Forte AC compressor is a dual-clutch type which will lessen the engine burden & the electrical power needed when it kicks-in. That's why we can hardly notice when the AC compressor kicks-in coz no light is dimming, sounds is kept to minimal & even no changes in RPM (so the car wont jerk when the AC compressor starts when we drive). Though this is some good features for us, but replacing it out of the warranty might be costly. As a moral of this paragraph, please dont burden your AC compressor to the max especially for a long period by setting the temp to less than 20 deg. Set the temp to 24-26 deg might be a good move in order to prolong the AC compressor's life & it saves fuel too This post has been edited by izputra: May 14 2012, 10:59 AM |
