hi, im noob at upgrading phone software using flash(usually i just upgrade via OTA)..SO ho to upgrade the software to jelly bean? need help please, thank you

the best part is after the jb update..we can now easily pinch to zoom using the default camera app..before this cannot pinch to zoom ... respect to samsung

After i loaded the JB firmware with odin, can i still update the official JB OTA in future when Samsung launches it?

Just now I did a check on software update and it downloaded a 15mb file. When click on install, it says will reboot the phone, but it was not rebooted...the screen stay black but the Setting and Back buttons are light up. Waited for 10min still the same. Press power button also no reaction. What happen?? Did I just brick my phone? By OTA updates? OMG! Anyone can help?

EDIT: Managed to reboot the phone by long press power button (>5 sec)...then the green robot appear and software installation starts...phew 
Took quite awhile for the entire updates...After that, it is still 2.3.6 and didnt notice any different.
Anyone know what updates is this?

I was facing sms ringtone problem...sometime no sound, sometime ring for 0.5 second then no sound already.
Notification tone for call and whatsapp seems no problem (tested with the same ringtone).
Just that you mention about the sms and miss-call notification in the updates...
So want to know more about what/how has it fixed (also mean Samsung does knew about this problem).

one new update for jelly bean has arrived(LPZ VERSION)..download it as it fixes some bugs in the CURRENT LPY VERSION

cool,this update fixes the bugs in the previous jelly bean (xxlpy version) like the video lag, alot or ram usage and others..now video no lag and ram usage around 330mb only with the xxlpz version

it have been a week since i update to jellybean.
only frustration for me. lag and eventually hang up that the phone restart itself. try opening phone icon, and there will be a noticeable lag. once happen to me that it become unresponsive when there is an incoming call. very silly to have phone hang at important time =_=

i stil hard to believe anyone saying jellybean is faster smooth for this phone. go try s3 mini and you will feel the performance is the same like s advance. open up the phone icon, try it.
