Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can have my books jacketed/wrapped? I used to buy all my stuff from Kinokuniya as they had a very professional book wrapping service for a nominal fee. Sadly, they no longer offer this and I'm a bit hopeless when it comes to wrapping my books on my own. Any ideas? Several shops back in Penang offer this but it's too troublesome to send dozens of books back to Penang...

You don't know how to wrap books ? doh.gif

It's in Indonesian. But the audio isn't really necessary. Just watching it, makes it clear.

Tiip: paper is much easier than plastic. Doesn't look so good. But you can draw interesting stuff on it, or print things on the paper.

The kind of plastic shown in the video is too thin and flexible. There's another kind that's even harder to wrap with, it's somewhat transluscent, has a matte surface, and is quite slippery. The easiest plastic to work with is one with a smooth surface, that sticks slightly to the gloss surface of books. The thicker the plastic, the easier it is to wrap with.

And cut it bigger. You waste a little bit of plastic, but think of it as the cost of learning. When you get really good, only then you cut just enough.

Sorry, don't know of professional book wrapping service.

I had heard about Kino's book wrapping service, but I thought it was more in the gift wrapping sense tongue.gif

Also, I didn't know this was actually a thing - I v. old school: I still wrap my own books one tongue.gif
