Cardiff is owned by a Malaysian tycoon right?
Cardiff is owned by Datuk Chan whose business partner is Vincent Tan of Berjaya Group who has made a fortune through some massive development contracts awarded to him by the ruling coalition. The latter is also the franchise holder for big chains like Krispy Kreme, 7/11, McDonald's, Starbucks, Papa John's, Kenny Rogers and so on. Take a walk around Tropicana City Mall. They also own all the one-arm bandits in the country as well as several hotels and resorts not just in Malaysia but in the UK, Seychelles and Sri Lanka. For those who frequent nightclubs, rest assured they probably own it. Some may question his scruples but there is no denying his success.

Datuk Chan is already looking into tapping on the Malaysian audience by looking into youth development initiatives. He's been rumoured to have taken over national youth tournaments and is looking to set up a Cardiff academy here. His own son plays football and after an unsuccessful spell in England, played for Pahang if memory serves me. A friend of mine is now working for him on youth projects. There is little doubt that like Tony Fernandez, he intends to commercialise the club in country. The fact that they hauled Safiq over there for a trial despite Malaysia being out of the top 70 countries in FIFA's World Ranking emphasised this. It created headlines but there was no way he was going to be able to sign a contract with the club.

I can't bring myself to support vincent tan although he is a malaysian.Bit of politics here but i don't want to talk about it.Let's just put it simply and say our money is involved in running cardiff.

I agree totally with you. It isn't about being unpatriotic. In this case it's about principles and moral. Not the forum to discuss this though.

It's common knowledge that Indonesian Reds are a fanatical lot. To emphasise this fact, a hotel has been named after our current captain. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premie...-steven-gerrard

Anyone saw that page on Facebook?

'Petition to kick Suarez out of the Premier League' - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Petition-to-...177913998984901

This is very uncalled for and poor by those people who liked the page.

Everyone report as spam!

Clearly started by a bitter manc. Take a swipe at City as well. Much as I hate clubs buying success, I'm kinda glad that their "noisy neighbours" are giving them a run for their money. Is it because I'm supporting an ABU cause? Hardly. It's because City has a passionate bunch if supporters whom I admire and who have taken stick from decades from their more illustrious neighbours. Now they've finally cause to rejoice. Competition is healthy. Anyway the page has garnered a massive 1,900 likes more or less shocking.gif . Let's have a think now. His facebook page has a paltry 1,500,000 likes and the "Suarez is innocent" page has over 5,000 likes rolleyes.gif

I don't really care how others choose to perceive less illustrious cup competitions like the League or Europa Cup. A cup final is still a cup final as far as I'm concerned, and a cup final is only as good as the atmosphere and you can be sure that whenever Liverpool are in a final, it will be electric! All hail the mighty 12th man.

It's yet another Cup Final! Doesn't matter which competition, the atmosphere will always be fantastic and something to savor. Before the game however, please take 5 mins to watch this and remember those who proudly wore the Liverbird on their chests in finals before.
