Which game you are interested is on which platform. Go for that one.

The Vita not having Munsta Hunta is a no sale, for me. And Sony still would charge anyone who needs to play their games purchased in UMD on Vita, which is a bummer. Hopefully, it'll be the next best handheld emulation system since the PSP, so I'm keeping my eye on this one. That aside, the 3DS has a pretty small library right now, but games like MH 4 is coming. And Kid Icarus. And Luigi's Mansion 2... but, still pretty meh.
Then again, if you happen to buy some games overseas, watch out for the region locks. The 3DS has that but the Vita doesn't. The 3DS has the 3D effects for you to screw your eyes with and the Vita has touchscreen function. Both, IMO, gimmicks. |

IMO, this may be the last gen of handheld consoles, as their shares of pie are quickly consume by iOS/android devices
even now 3DS and PSP has outsold PSV in terms of their weekly sales in Jpn. and US is already changing the pre-order packages for PSV with more goodies even now I hardly touch my NDSi and PSP anymore... both has been collecting dust ever since I got an iPad2 and a Galaxy Tab even my kids which usually fights for my NDSi doesn't touch them anymore, and fights for the iPad for the ios/android tablet, we love the portability and the multitask-ability of it, bigger screen, cheaper, more casual games, better batteries life and so on, but i still miss the button smashing on portable, which the tablet can never emulate with its touchscreen. So, how long can the handheld console last???? will this the last generation of it? |

Nothing beats button mashing at the moment.until they come up with an interface that is more responsive and effective than button mashing, they are here to stay.touch screen can be good in certain games but not all.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Jan 30 2012, 04:20 PM) IMO, this may be the last gen of handheld consoles, as their shares of pie are quickly consume by iOS/android devices I don't hope for the end of it.I expect to see them becoming even better as the technology varies from time to time.even now 3DS and PSP has outsold PSV in terms of their weekly sales in Jpn. and US is already changing the pre-order packages for PSV with more goodies even now I hardly touch my NDSi and PSP anymore... both has been collecting dust ever since I got an iPad2 and a Galaxy Tab even my kids which usually fights for my NDSi doesn't touch them anymore, and fights for the iPad for the ios/android tablet, we love the portability and the multitask-ability of it, bigger screen, cheaper, more casual games, better batteries life and so on, but i still miss the button smashing on portable, which the tablet can never emulate with its touchscreen. The best way to know for sure is to do some research on their games, and test play both systems yourself.
