ECO is not for SB one. biggrin.gif
I always bought RAM based on higher bin/speed rather than tighter timings.

Btw i saw what u have there keke

yeah i know.but this kit i bought for my AMD. As i always with AMD.
Not sure if my sandy before has weak IMC or this board just better in mem OC

Currently high speed kit is expensive.. ppl like me cant afford those kits.

Not so sure with others, but on amd, msi 990fx gd80 seemed to be slightly better on ram oc (on lower freq & tight timing) if compared o competitors. So far am still strugglin to prime stable @ 2200mhz @ 7-107 on other boards. sad.gif

agree with you antonio sir, my PSC can do 2k with 6-9-6-18 or even 6-8-6-19 with MSI mobo. nod.gif

probably it's just the IMC?

I wonder how the APUs' scale with memory speed. from what I see Llano seems to love high memspeed.

Dear sifu's I would really appreciate your help. I have done my research (google, lowyat), until I see stars rclxub.gif and dunno how else to decide.

I want to make a gaming pc using i5 2500k, msi z68 gen3 mobo and radeon 7850. I intend to brutally OC the cpu and gpu. But when it comes down to question of ram, I'm torn between buying a

single Corsair 8GB Vengeance 1600mhz CL9 (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
OR
dual kit 4GB (2x2gb) 1600mhz.

The reason I even consider the singe 8GB card because someone selling it for rm180. But I cant afford another similar card to dual channel. So would it be more effective on a gaming performance perspective to get a single 8gb card or dual channel 2x2Gb card? Many thx in advance.

Can anyone also recommend other good 4GB (2 X 2gb) dual channel 1600mhz kit which is reasonably priced and can overclock well?

in term of OC, i rather choose 2Gb stick over 4Gb or 8Gb. and lower latency (CL8 or CL7)

or you can consider this ram crucial
