well, followed the xmp profile timing and voltage somehow ended up with bsod(which only came out once), and pc freeze
manually decreasing the voltage but still keeping the timing and frequency at 800MHz somehow ended up stable, im just kinda confused
using asus p8p67 btw

The problem with XMP is that sometimes it tends to alter something else (i.e: BCLK value, VTT voltages and so on) which might led to instability...

What you should probably do is set the ram speed manually to 1600mhz and set the main timing and the CR to 2t, while everything else in at stock values...

Tried that and still gets pc freeze
The funny thing is after I manually set the main timing and speed as long as I don't set the volt over 1.65 and above it will be stable, I'm puzzled now

5 minutes into stress test pc freeze whenever i set to 1600mhz sweat.gif with all those main timings and voltage manually set
so now is it the RAM problem, or is my pc?

hmm my mem test got no error but only 2 passes then i give up
but something unexpected came up, my b1 and b2 slots when testing with single module primary timing were 6-6-6-20 instead of 9-9-9-24 which i set on the bios

thats the weird part, set at 1600Mhz
gonna try wat happened when i set it at 1333Mhz now on bios and test it at mem test
since 1333Mhz is the stable 1 with 6 hours stress test

okie im not sure is it bug on memtest
but when i login to windows cpuz indicates the timing were 9-9-9-24

this only happens if i put the ram on either b1 or b2 slot for asus p8p67
the cas timing were at 9-9-9-24 on the mem test when its at a2 slot, din bother to try out a1 since my cpu fan is blocking it

okie i think its safe to assume is my MB problem
running stress test using 1 ram on b2 slot causes the pc freeze in 5 minutes, same like when i tried it in dual channel
putting the same 1 ram on a2 slot n ran a stress test can goes more than 1 hour, i dont bother to continue since if it goes pass 10 minutes it beats the best record already doh.gif

Hi sifus, i'm a newbie in this and not sure if this consider as overclocking or not.

I got BSOD during map switching when playing Battlefield 3.

On Bios settings i changed ram frequency from 1332mhz to 1648mhz (btw bios only shows 1648mhz and not 1600mhz exactly)
if i set back to 1332Mhz i wont get any BSOD.
problem is my ram is suppose to support up to 1600mhz....

Running on Windows 7 64bit

Here's my spec
Intel i7 2600K 4.4ghz(tuned with Asus optimal mode.)
Asus P8P67
Cosair vengeance 2x4GB DDR3 1600 C9
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5850
WD 7200 1TB x2
Cosair GS600

Attached Image

Please advise dear sifus. thanks!

What's the code of BSOD?
bump up vdimm a lil bit or set BCLK to 100MHz

i tot you wanna find those ram for OC purpose... then you can run memory benchmark from aida64 rclxms.gif
aida64>tools>cache and memory benchmark

very good oredy since you are not OC your ram. for me, i'll OC the ram,
not at higher speed but at optimum score with stock voltage.

you will gain more score when you can OC the cpu/nb. increase the fsb, use lower multiplier processor,
for the ram use 1 step lower speed at divider (1600-->1333).

this is using 1600 divider, CL9 but cpu/nb at stock speed

this using 1333 divider at CL8 and cpu/nb speed at 2400Mhz
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

both were at almost same processor clock, 3.3Ghz

this kit never ever boot with 2133 before.max is 900 only.. now can boot already. but ofkos not stable. enough for 1M only.

Gskill Eco 1600 7-8-7 1.35
currently at 1.68v

ECO is not for SB one. biggrin.gif
I always bought RAM based on higher bin/speed rather than tighter timings.

Btw i saw what u have there keke
