QUOTE(Crossover @ Jan 28 2012, 11:11 AM) try this. 1) take out the battery, then put in back 2) vol up + home + start button to get into recovery mode 3) wipe data 4) then restart this should solve ur problem. But if have not back up ur datas before upgrade, then u will lost all ur data after doing the above steps. With ur situation, loosing data is the only way to get ur phone back alive. Added on January 28, 2012, 11:13 amIf stock 2.2 is ok for u, u may continue using it Stable ICS, well, that will be a long long time... as there will not be an official ICS for SGS. well in that case then could u recommend a good, well balanced custom gingerbread rom? i used csl mi-300 previously n custom roms could really make the phone improve by 2 - 3 folds!

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 28 2012, 11:06 PM) I suggest not updating via kies. Rather download the ROM and update via ODIN, much faster. Personally the stock roms have issues in terms of lag. Once I went via CM7, it was a much more enjoyable experience. alright i shall try my hands on custom 2.3 rom using odin for now then.. how long would the whole process take assuming everything goes well? got class from mrng till evening tmrw Added on January 28, 2012, 11:18 pmwhat about browsers bro? i've used opera mini for its smoothness for my old phone bcuz of hardware limitation any other better, easier to use browser that galaxy S can handle? okay guys i'm lost among all the enormous posts n info on the 1st page..
i have a quick noob question here, how do i fix the lag by just a few clicks?
will probably flash my phone to other roms some time next month but for now i just want it to be slightly smoother, the lag can be super annoying at times!

Added on January 31, 2012, 10:53 pmbtw, is it normal to have only 20mb of system rom free? my phone feels rather sluggish, slower than my old 600mhz/192mb ram csl spice This post has been edited by 2kia: Jan 31 2012, 10:53 PM

QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Feb 1 2012, 08:50 AM) im on JVU + Semaphore + ThunderBolt~ our SGS has 2GB of ROM.... its quite impossible to fill in... your referring to RAM is it? QUOTE(MYstombox @ Feb 1 2012, 08:57 AM) 20mb of system ram will not lag the system. If you like ASOP android, I suggest flashing to CM7 over any stock rom variants. After testing out stock roms for a long time, I find CM7 is smoother in terms of UI and faster in terms of app loading. system rom, mines like 21mb free outta 300mb or smthg.. hmm what's asop rom? anyway I'm looking for smthg smooth, fast n good battery life, smthg balanced laa =P
