some user reported it comes with TW4
*
this is crazy.. after so many months I thought Samsung won't provide anymore updates to i9000. But nw suddenly a value pack + tw4 and 364mb ram. lol laugh.gif

never have that problem even on GB hmm.gif

this is sad, samsung should instead provide us ICS update as other same specs machine like Nexus S and HTC DHD got their ICS respectively
*
I think it's probably because the system partition on Galaxy S is much more smaller and Touchwiz requires more ram, these held back the update. Also, Samsung might thinks that Galaxy S has done enough tongue.gif

on GB yes, i also never have that problem.. b4 this when on GB, i set my Camera to save all image to External SD card.. so after using ICS, all those DCIM Camera image on External SD card become duplicate in Gallery App smile.gif
really? i'll try.. thx smile.gif
*
never encounter this issue on SGS hmm.gif

Mount your phone in USB mode, try deleting these folders in SD card using PC:
1. thumnails (in DCIM\)
2. com.android.providers.media (in Android\data\)
3. com.google.android.gallery3d (in Android\data\)

After that unmount,
Settings > Manage apps > all > media storage/content - FC and clear data and cache
Then reboot your phone.

Make sure you have a backup of your photos. If doesn't work, just delete the folders above then recopy your photos over then umount your phone properly smile.gif

P/S: Had this prob since 2 years back huh? tongue.gif gajahwhite

I thought that Galaxy S would get ICS as per first page on this thread but then to my horror I read this on gsm arena;

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_v...a-news-4032.php

Amongst the important things from the article;

...Samsung had to take back its words after they found that the device was unable to run the new OS

...Later, Samsung promised to bring a value pack to the Galaxy S, which would essentially be Gingerbread but infused with some of the features from Android 4.0, such as face unlock. After a while though, even that plan was cancelled as the phone's hardware was once again shown to be less than adequate.

I don't understand. I thought that this was a powerful phone.

Thanks for advice, already done that, gamerzrom nice also, after 3 months use ICS then now I'm turning back
to GB back, because after flash to Elite v6 my phone have hallo hallo bug and most annoying sometimes I
when I want to make call cannot, like block all outside and inside call, but sms & whatsapp can. Need to restart to solve this. So now first time using Gamerzrom, anyone can advise me what to do first after flash this? Any kernel to flash? Or dont need to do anything?
*
Every time you flash from ICS to GB, start from stock rom using Odin. From there, then go ahead with your preferred rom. smile.gif

Gamerzrom ICS is getting interesting brows.gif

QUOTE(barca96 @ Apr 1 2012, 02:03 PM)
So Galaxy S won't get ICS?

And since I'm new to smartphones, is it really important for the phone to be up to date?
I thought that all this OS updating is similar to Windows 97>ME>XP.Vista>7.
On PC's it's not necessary for us to update the latest OS.
Is it not the same on smartphones?

What are the disadvantages if a smartphone can't get ICS or the future updates?

Will S1 last long or not in terms of updating?
Or is it better to top up and get a used S2?

Thanks.
I will really appreciate if someone can shed a light on this.
I'm really noob in this matters.
*
Top up and get a used S2. S1 is basically reaching the end of its product lifecycle. Samsung has been updating it for 2 years, don't expect them to do for another 1 or 2 years. Every phone out there will get outdated sooner or later, manufacturers won't waste time updating them

The only disadvantages of not being up to date with the latest Android OS is can't enjoy new features, new UIs and improvements made I suppose

In short, yes, S1 won't be getting official ICS updates from Samsung

wat should i do with the snake batt booster?

at the moment, it is somehow not as good as ICSSGS 4/2 (IMO)
- wats the best kernel?
- apex or nova launcher better?
*
flash Semaphore, it's definitely draining like hell on its stock kernel (Devil). Make sure you flash according to the proper procedure on its thread. I flashed Semaphore yesterday n it's back to normal
